gets annoying..

I prefer acres. It makes managing your town easier, and if waiting the half a second it takes to switch over annoys you, then you are just impatient.

imo, they shoulda kept a hybrid. Divide the maps up into acres, but keep it one seamless map ingame.

Never happened to me, but even the acre system itself is so annoying for me. The only thing I like about it is that "Perfect Town" is much easier.

Huh. I enjoyed the acre system, and absolutely in no way did I think it ruined the game...
It made the village feel more realistic. If you think about it, in Wild World and City Folk, the towns are cylindrical. It rolls up and down, but not side to side.

Hehe, imagine if our world was wrapped around something like a coffee can. :P

because the world is flat, not round.. :p

that's the reason why they made the city "roll" in the later games, i believe.. so that it was more realistic/like the real world, which is round instead of flat.

but yeah, the acre system was probably better.. i don't remember playing the GC game much. the one big city thing makes it more organic, instead of cut and dry acres/chart.

The world in City Folk is not a sphere, its more like a cylinder. Think about it, the ground does not roll when you walk left and right across town...

Freaky

Actually, the Acre system is pretty cool. it may have about a 1 second load time from acre to acre, but i like it. i actually didn't like the rolling ball thing in the other ones at first. and it helped section off the town.

Well, really it's when you're used to the newer versions and then play the GC, it gets annoying. The game is still pretty fun though.
