i prefer the personality of my male villagers (esp. lazies, crankies and smug) and recently had to get a jock villager cuz i rly wanna unlock that flourish reaction, but now i have 8 males and only 2 females. (3 lazies, 2 crankies, 2 smug, 1 jock) and for females it’s 1 normal and 1 peppy, i let go of 1 snooty bc i don’t rly vibe w snooties. i didn’t think i would like jocks but i got 1 that was pretty cute so i didn’t mind afterwards, and feel like keeping him. i was considering getting 1 sisterly but i don’t like most of their designs and i love my villagers too much to let them go. was thinking of kicking out 1 lazy but i can’t they’re just too cute and endearing, I don’t mind the repeated dialog about food and bugs. so yeah what are you guys thoughts? what’s your gender ratio on your islands?
 
I start with 1 of each personality, which splits it 50/50.

I then add an extra normal, and a lazy. This keeps it 50/50. Though I recently kicked out my 2nd lazy and brought in another snooty for the time being. So I'm sitting at 40/60.
 
My plan is to have an all-male island because that's what I want for my island thematically. Right now, I'm still aiming to get all the remaining reactions from the female personalities before I permanently decide my final villager lineup.
 
i only have 3 male villagers, and only two of them are permanent lOl. meanwhile i have like 5 normals just... normalizing my island. my ratio is totally off. i've been thinking about kicking at least 3 of them out, bc their dialogue is very boring and repetitive. i do love ursula and ruby though, my only uchi and peppy villagers.

ahh you’re the opposite of me i had 3 females 7 males but my snooty wasn’t permanent so i kicked her out for a jock :(
 
I have 7 females and 3 males.
The issue I have is that I like a lot of the normal villagers, but there's not too many smugs, jocks, or crankies that I adore. Lazy has more nice designs, but I've grown kind of tired of all the bug talk. It didn't bother me at first, but it's all he says.... afraid to get another lazy. 😅
 
pashmina is a good sisterly
when people always ask for a sisterly/uchi i ALWAYS say pashmina. Shes the only uchi ive ever had and i love her (other than my starter but we dont talk about her i hated her)

this was unintentional though. I dont care about gender ratio more than i care about having every single personality

ahh that’s me with normal! their designs are so cute, they’re the sweetest, but they can get a lil boring. lazy is repetitive but idk they’re just so silly it’s funny and makes them more endearing idk.

yea i was thinking of swapping my sherb for pashmina for the personality and gender but I LOVE SHERB SO MUCH it’s so sad. :-: for the sisterly i do like cherry, muffy and fushchia’s designs alongside pashmina. thanks for recommending her tho! i may invite her someday!
 
My island is currently 80% male and 20% female. That's not to say that I prefer male villagers but more so because of male personalities. The 2 females I have are Phoebe and Blanche. Phoebe is permanent lock because she is the only uchi I like. As for the males...right now I have 3 crankies (Vic, Octavian and Walt) and 3 lazies (Lucky, Erik and Zucker). Its pretty imbalanced I know but lazy is my fav personality and I have 3 crankies because of failed island hopping attempts. I plan on getting my boy Drago eventually so that'll be 4 lazies...maybe I'll just have a whole lazy island at some point idk.

yay, you’re the exact same as me, 80% males and 20% females! and same for the personality preference for males than females. lazies are my fav too cuz they’re so loveable and endearing. zucker is my initial 10 and he’s staying forever! i got beau and sherb a little later on but i still got pretty attached to them. i love cranky too lol ever since wolfgang came to my campsite, and i got fang bc i feel wolfgang needs a wolfie pal! snooty wolves are not for me and audie doesn’t feel peppy to me, and i feel meh abt her. for smugs it’s pretty typical i have raymond and marshal but i feel that smug rly suits them, marshal is an adorable smol bean who sings all the time, i know ppl say raymond is overrated but i also found him thru the campsite and initially invited him over only cuz of the heterochromia eyes but i grew to love him too, he and marshal are best buds! the 2 females i have is maple who is sweet as honey and she’s my fav normal so i’m keeping her. i actually had like 4 normals but i let them go bc tho they’re sweet and cute i felt the lack of attachment. my peppy is ruby cuz she’s the only peppy i can stand, idk i had apple for awhile and got really annoyed. xD omg this is turning into an essay but i would totally want an all-lazy island, lol i love them so much, i do have even more lazy dreamies too but i felt 3 was too much. :(

I prefer to keep everything balanced, so I'm at 50/50 right now. But before getting my second lazy, I had 6 female villagers.
 
I see to be the exact opposite of everyone else on this thread, lol. I have 8 females and 2 males....eventually I want to bring in the other male personalities, at least long enough to get the reactions and crafting recipes...but I prefer the female personalities overall. Normal is my favorite overall, though, I do have a lot of peppies right now...That was unintentional
 
I only care about personalities to be honest, I don't mind having more males than females or vice versa on my island.

I just feel like females are cuter. My favourite personalities are lazy, smug, and peppy. Got one of each personality though. Pre NH my fav personalities were actually lazy and snooty. So sad that snooty doesn't insult me anymore.

I have Bones, Chadder, Knox, Scoot, Judy, Muffy, Lolly, Blaire, Apple, and Pashmina who I want to perish for Sprinkle.
 
I always want at least 1 of every personality type, which means I get a fairly even split for gender ratio on my island for villagers.
 
I really love lazy villagers and I have a couple I’ve had others in the past too, I also prefer male characters over females
Male: Punchy Sherb Beau Fang Raymond Marshal
Female: Ketchup Diana Judy Lolly
