So, I'm looking to get the New 3DS XL, and I'm trying to figure out why my laptop won't read my SD card, so I moved the "lock" switch on it, not knowing what it did, hoping it would let me laptop read it. It didn't, but when I put the card back in my 3DS and turned it on it said "write protection disabled on this card unable to load data" i had a ****ing heart attack

then I flipped the lock switch and all was good but I was just "oh my god acnl is gone what"

I did this before, oh god. Nearly lost my mind until I did a Google search on SD cards.

I know, when this type of thing happens it sucks. You almost wish you can export your town to a cloud somewhere so at least there's a backup copy in case something major happens to your system or something. I would die if my town disappeared. So much time went into it!
