Gardening Failure

Did you ever experience the time when you have one fruit and you don't have more and you 100% need it to grow because you don't know how you will get it again and you plant it and it dies?

Yes, the time when I cut down all my trees and was stupid enough to not keep any extra fruits. I only had a single pear. And it wasn't even my native fruit.

I've never had this. At one point I figured out I could go on tours and get the fruits I needed there. The only rookie mistake I made with my fruit was not planting the very first perfect peach I got when my town was created. I got lucky months later and now I have a whole bunch of perfect peach trees around.

Near the beginning of the game when fruit were a rare thing, I would always plant them in a place where the tree was sure to grow.
Far enough from anything that could prevent it.
Then once I got more fruit from it I would cut down the tree if I didn't like the location.

You can only get the exotic fruit from tours though.

I ate non-native fruits early on when I got them from Isabelle and villagers. I didn't know about planting trees.

Nope, because I would cut down a tree already growing and plant the new fruit there to ensure it didn't die and get wasted.

I guess that makes sense. I didn't really start landscaping until two or three months ago, and that's after I learned about all that stuff.

When you move in on the first day, there'll be a perfect native fruit in one of the trees. You just plant that. If you sell it, it's still possible to find a perfect fruit, but it's rare.
What's your native fruit?

I was terrified when I planted my first perfect fruit that someone would move in and land on it and squash it before it matured. Luckily nobody did.

My only real gardening failures were due to planting conifers in the southern part of town before I realized they would only grow in the north. I wasted a lot of conifer saplings that way. That and when my flowers refuse to spawn the right colors... dammit tulips stop spawning black! I have too many black ones already! I need orange! Orange!..

I was able to get a basket of apples from someone and I planted half of them and saved the rest to take to my second town. The day my apple trees would be bearing fruit, Rory came and plopped his house right on top of all the apple trees. Luckly, I still had the rest of the apples I could plant.

Also, my only gardening failure was, as someone else already mentioned, selling my first perfect fruit... Realized my mistake the next week, didn't get a new one until several months later OTZ
Apart from that, I only cut down trees in order to plant other fruit trees in the same spot. Now I have a bunch of natural forests, each with different fruits

OMG yep, Roscoe gave me a mango and I assumed that mangoes grew on palms, so I planted it on the beach. And it obviously died. -_- It was my only mango, too.

No, I had an experience where I had a perfect fruit and I planted said perfect fruit because I needed it to grow (obviously). Then I turned on my game the next day, and there was a house plot on top of it!

Ya. You know the basket of foreign fruit Isabelle gives you at the beginning? I think there were only 3, and I killed 2 of them, not knowing where to plant trees. XD I was so confused back then lol.
