This past few days I've noticed a divide through my villagers. A divide in fashion and class. It started with Mathilda and Zell, both of which seem to place themselves rather highly on the caste system and they started wearing their famed somone in anytown white shirts to mark their high positions.
Then Middle class Muffy managed to rope Diana into wearing their skull tee's and they began loitering in the plaza, dragging Ed into their little crowd.
And yesterday my poor little commoners, Broccolo, Bruce and Winnie donned Melon shirts and segregated themselves.

Today I noticed Sally had also put on a melon shirt and joined their ranks, and they seem to have disguised Winnie in a designer white shirt to infiltrate what Mathilda started before she skipped town to recruit.

I feel a foreboding wind blowing through town.

Anyone else having trends running through their villagers? I know it happened in past games, but up until now my villagers had all been individual dressers, and suddenly this has started.

Quite a few of my villagers have started to wear my Batman vest... then theres Graham, who is on his own wearing my sailor top.... lol

LOL. I love the way you wrote this. I haven't noticed anything like this in my town. But in my wild world town Whitney got the entire town to say 'snappy' and wear a shirt ( i forgot which) and it was so annoying

It had to be Graham, the little hipster. He's always mentioning how he liked things before they were cool to me.

I haven't really noticed this, although I did notice two villagers (I forget who) a few days ago have a conversation and both get annoyed by it. Also Tammi is convinced she's a popstar, and seems to act like she's better than everyone else.

Edit: Also Ribbot seems to be forcing his catchphrase on everyone.

Mint is forcing her catchphrase to everyone, and people are either wearing white shirts, the bunny top or a blue plaid shirt with the sleeves ripped off ^.^

There was one time when Barold was throwing his spare tiger shirts at everyone, and I had at least 4 villagers wearing the darn thing, haha. Now only Bruce and Barold are the only ones wearing it.

Someone from Anytown's shirt has also started to become quite popular among my villagers, with both Gala and Pierce wearing it. These two have also forced their catchphrases onto other people, namely Erik and Chops, respectively. Though I suppose it's kind of amusing to see Erik say "oinkers" all the time.

Hehe, this is funny. On my first town I made a design that Anabelle and Agnes wore. I was really proud of that! But almost everyone else had on beaded tanks, even Elmer, as if they were going out to town. :D Then Elmer changed a few days before I restarted. What a relief! Thankfully Chester didn't wear it either; Elmer had looked ridiculous enough!

The green shirt with the duck on it comes up a lot. -.-

Also, the dawn tank seems to be constantly making the rounds in my game. :|

I like that 2 of you lot also have someone from anytowns influence spreading in your towns. I shall imagine Mathilda's travels are going well and she's spreading the word. xD

I haven't yet had any of my villagers spreading their catchphrases, other than me making Sally say nutjob and Muffy picked up on it ~ swiftly put an end to that. Though it would have added to this with secret pass-phrases. xP

If the upstart skull shirts start spreading and I feel me and Zell are threatened then I guess I can get Isabelle to force their group to disband too.

In light of this, I think I've got a pretty tight knit community in my town. At one point they were all wearing the jagged tee, maybe with the exception of one. And they were all talking about feeling all rock 'n' roll. Thankfully, it was just a fad, and all but Renee has changed shirts. I complained about Renee's sense of style to Isabelle, but I guess she isn't as wilful as Renee.

Everyone's wearing the someone from anytown shirt and not my design :(

Remove it from Ables and give it a while and they'll all eventually get rid of it. Or have your design as the only one in Ables and wait. xP

Maybe they only change if it's a designed tee then. :/ That's a shame though. I'd love to witness a shih-tzu trying to convince a rhino to part with it's favourite clothes though. Renee ain't picking up what you're throwing down Isabelle.
