So I go inside Friga's home to see if she had a request. She asked for a stringfish, but I said no because I didn't feel like searching for that obnoxiously rare fish this late when she would be going to sleep soon anyways.

So I leave her place, and right outside is a large fish shadow.

Catch it, and sure enough it's a stringfish.



Anyone else had any sort of ridiculous situation like this happen to them?

See, and I have done the opposite for so many times that I just give up if I know it's a rarer fish, because CONSTANTLY they ask early in the day and I'm like SURE I'll be able to catch it, the conditions are right, it's the right time I'll nail it! And I'll fish all day... going for just the appropriate shadows and nope, not gunna happen. >:[ So now I say no most of the time but later on when I finish my museum I'm gunna save a bunch of the rarer fish and stuff so when they ask I can just go pull it from my locker and be done with it. Like after getting the perfect town everyone started asking me for wharf roaches and I'm like, bruh, we don't have those anymore, and I'm not about to spend the 1000b to go to the dang island.

yeah it's happend to me before. they should really let you change your mind in the game about these kinds of things. like idk in real life....

That's lucky! Glad you caught a string fish! My villagers seem to like doing the opposite and requesting bugs or fish right when the hour has turned and I just missed the time frame for them. I always have to double-check before I accept their request, and mostly just don't. I never really feel like going to the island just for those because they usually just give me clothes as a reward.

I swear my villagers ask for either super rare ones or ones that are out of season ; A ;

When a villager asks for a rare bug or a fish I just tell them to eff off and say No, get it yourself ya lazy bloke!

That sort of thing happens to me sometimes. I pretty much always turn down requests for fish, bugs and fossils because I don't want them junking up their houses. But it's funny when I deny a request for something and turn around and catch it. LOL

In Wild Word, Tangy is now asking for a specific fossil. As the cracks are much harder to see in that game and she won't stop requesting for that, this'll be a real pain.

yup. someone asked me to catch them a mole cricket but i said no because i didn't really want to go through the effort of catching one. sure enough, i caught one while looking for my money rock.
