Game cartridge question

hey guys, I have a question about new horizons game cartridge. so my little brother has been watching me play animal crossing since it came out and he's been nagging me to let him play. But i've worked really hard on my island and i dont trust him enough to not mess it up or let some of my villagers go. he has his own switch, would it be fine if i let him use my game cartridge and have his own save? or will it override my save :x

I don't think so since save data isn't saved on the cartridge but on your profile. I would test it while he isn't looking and see!

It's fine letting him borrow the cartridge. The save data of switch games doesn't save to the cartridges themselves, they saves on your switch.

Can confirm what others are saying, my husband and I shared a cartridge between our switches for a week before he decided to download the game on his so we could play together with our own towns at the same time. Neither save file was harmed.
