Is it just me or do these fossils pop up in the most inconvenient of places? I always feel like I have to bend over backwards to get to them (or really just move a bunch of objects which I don’t want to do lol).

Does this happen to you?

Not very often. When I see a fossil off the side of a cliff that I have to climb up or climb down to get, that does get a tad annoying because of having to pull out the ladder.

Ah yes, the cliff fossils. I guess I’m more bothered because I’m done with the fossils so it feels more like a chore than anything else.

I was planning on having a dirt path, but the fossils kept spawning on it so I ended up having to change my plan.
So in that sense the fossils were popping up in inconvenient places as well as the cliff fossils.

I know the feeling. I think I have to discover one more fossil to have that section of the museum complete.

Is there a trend for them? They do tend to sprout on dirt paths more than anything but today one was right by my lake in between the edge and some mannequins I have up.

Oh you’re so close! It’s the best feeling once you complete it. The only downside is then you have to deal with fossils you don’t want anymore lol. Best of luck! And if you have one in particular you need, let me know. Happy to help out.

Yes sometimes.
They spawn on my dirt paths so often I put down clear tiles everywhere. I miss my dirty paths going splash splash in the rain but whatever still worth it.

Alright. My brother usually gets to the fossils first which is fortunate for me. I think even after that part of the museum is finished, I'm probably still going to dig them up just so I can get Bells.

They seem to have an affinity for the dirt paths. It’s a constant battle.

Since a lot of my island is covered in trees, flowers and custom paths, it seems like they always just spawn on the very few grass areas in my orchard. Not complaining, it makes digging them up easier. But I also noticed that during treasure hunts offered by villagers, they always bury the treasure in the same area as well. Makes my life quite easy. 😅

I have a couple stepping stones in one part of my river. A fossil spawned there one day. I literally had to terraform to get one fossil 😑

Yikes! That sounds like a nightmare. Terraforming was such a headache for me.

The worst is when they pop up in my orchard. Have to scrounge through the trees to find where they are.

Ah yeah, the low camera scanning. I’ve definitely had to do that too. They like to hide.

Since you’re done, just find an inconspicuous place like the cliff along the back of your island and bury six fossils. They won’t spawn again.

I think this issue is more recurrent for people with more structured/developed islands already as the fossils would have to find open spaces for it to spawn, so it'll more likely spawn on those little spaces you have left, but if you still have a lot of open spaces and this happens, then maybe the rng gods hate you or something and wants you to have a significantly harder time to get those fossils lol...

Oh really? Omg, you’re a life saver. Thank you for the tip!

Yep, one of the fossils spawned on the cliff on the museum area.

They always find a way it seems.
