Forever and ever and ever?

It would be amazing to pass it down generations. But the reality of things does shatter that envision.
Ugh I can already imagine myself playing it through lectures at school though.

Oh I know :( I always thought my life would be that way. Like I would force my children to play the systems that I had instead of buying them the new ones, whatever's out at that time haha. I still plan to...we'll see how that works out!

If AC comes out on Wii U, I will DIE. I like the Wii U and I sort of want it, but like other people said, nowadays we have more "life" to get back to and it's gonna be terrible if I need to sit in my living room for 4 hours.

The Japanese home console version was fine because back then, we had less technology and job things to worry about.

Which is what I mean when I say "convenient".
We live in a new era.

Well, I'm still playing Wild World and City Folk (although not continuously, I just recently started them both back up after I got New Leaf.) But I played both pretty much every day for a couple years at least, so I'll probably play New Leaf at least that long. I love New Leaf the best (especially the Beautiful Town ordinance, one reason I quit playing the other games is if you skip just a few days, your flowers die and you have to start all over replanting and pulling weeds, and it's depressing and tedious, so it's easier to just totally quit playing. In New Leaf with that ordinance, hopefully it'll be more "casual use" friendly and I'll keep playing longer, just not every single day after awhile.)

I do tend to play games on portable consoles longer though, simply because I can play anywhere.

I still play all the older AC's, occasionally. I can't wait for the new Zelda to come out, so, I can see myself playing regularly AT LEAST until Nov.

I will play regularly as long as I feel like before I lose interest. In September I'm going off to university so I probably won't have as much time to play as I do now. But I won't be getting the next one if it comes out for WiiU, I don't have the money to drop on another console atm, especially considering I don't want any other games for it.

I only managed to keep playing WW for a few months before I lost interest, but I think NL will be able to keep me entertained for much longer. I'd like to keep playing it for at least a year. Perhaps not as regularly as now (especially with Pokemon X/Y coming up), but I'd love to experience as much of what the game has to offer as possible.

Yeeeeeeeah. Once X & Y comes out New Leaf is going out the door for a bit...haha.

I'm already losing interest admittedly. ^^;

Although it's probably just a phase. I think I over-played it a little and just need a break.

I activly played CF for about three years, so hopefully longer. This one is much more entertaining.

How long are you guys planning to stick with New Leaf?
For years to come because it's such an amazing game?
Or maybe you're already losing interest in it?

I'm just curious to see what you guys say since the game kinda has no end to it.
A really long time.... Especially since I've never enjoyed an AC game like I have NL... <3

Well I played Wild World for a good year or so before I started getting bored with it. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing this one for at least 2 years. :)

Yeah if the next one comes out on home console i wont be playing it, i just never play home consoles tbh? i used to own all of them but dont own any now, i just prefer the convenience, i have the 12 or so best games for the 3DS and thats enough to me, i feel so restricted and HATE just sitting playing a console tbh :)
Plus it means while studying and stuff i can quickly pop onto a handheld for a few mins etc

Yessssss. You stole the words right out of my mouth!

Except I do prefer multi-player on @ home consoles better than on handhelds.

I'm honestly not sure how long I'll be playing New Leaf.

Population Growing I played from 2002 to about 2006. I find that there's a direct relationship between the time I stopped playing video games as much and when I finally had a computer in the house, haha.

Wild World probably would have been a game I played for years as well, if it hadn't been for the fact that I had a huge falling out with a (now ex) friend of mine and she stole my copy.

City Folk I played for maybe a month before it grew boring to me. I'd go back to playing binges every 4 - 6 months but never more than a week at a time. It was on City Folk that I realized that Animal Crossing was a series best played on a handheld console.

I haven't felt as enthusiastic about an Animal Crossing game since the Gamecube one, so I can see myself playing it for the next couple years. It seems like it brought back the "magic" of the series, I guess? However, I'm really unpredictable when it comes to games. A game can be all I think about for a month or two, and then suddenly I couldn't care less about it.

I think AC will do better on the Wii U than it did on the Wii. It all comes down to the GamePad. You can play a game on it without the use of the television, thereby making it so the family can watch TV while I water my flowers on AC. The current games that I play does not use this function, but I think it is a good function for games like AC.

Since AC titles are launched years apart there may be a new portable console within the next few years, and AC would probably come out on that. I'll play ACNL for years as it is a great intro to the series, and I hope to pick up WW someday.

If that 3DS XL with Xerneas and Yveltal on it is launched in NA, that may slow my progress down as I have been a Pokemon fan for 9 years. However, I won't stop until the new AC comes. Even if I can't get it, I'll watch walkthroughs on YouTube.

I would also love to play Population Growing.

When I start school I know I won't be so into it...I plan on writing down the day and time I last played so when I plan on playing again I will start at that time so my villagers won't be gone and the time I put into the game in Laying down paths and flowers isn't a waste.

I like this idea, I think I'll do the same. If I miss days I'll just go back in time and probably time travel day by day to the current day without having anyone move out :)

I had been playing AC:WW everyday for 3 years until AC:NL came along. I had to retire my WW town due to lack of time to play it. I'll probably play NL until I shuffle off this mortal coil. :)

I haven't actually played any Animal Crossing game aside from NL since I am new to the series, so I wouldn't know how they compare. If I do end up getting tired of it though I do see myself going on binges just to relive some enthusiasm.

Going on to what was brought up with the GamePad--you wouldn't really need to enjoy AC on a Wii U if you have a 3DS. It's the same functionality. I guess I'm just being a penny-pincher and refusing to buy a Wii U. :( LOL.

But like I mentioned before Pokemon X & Y does trump anything AC only because I've been a fanatic of Pokemon for over a decade. But I most definitely interested in playing WW since NL was such a success in my book.
