For the first time a villager wants move out, I have some questions

So yesterday Caroline asked me if she could move out, I agreed since I would prefer Coco instead as my Normal villager.
Today I have 6 villagers + Caroline in boxes, so my questions are :

- Can I go today on mystery islands to find a new villager or do I have to wait for the plot to be empty ?
- Can I recruit today a new villager from another player's island or do I have to wait for the plot to be empty ?

Follow up question: Do we just have the one day like we would have with brand-new plots to replace the villager? Is it like a new move-in the very next day or do we get an extra day?

i think it’s random. sometimes you’ll get a random villager after a day of the plot being empty but it could also take 2-3 days for a random villager to occupy the plot. it’s seemingly random aha

So how does trading online works ? Like when you see someone selling a villager you want and you don't have a plot you can't go in their town to recruit him in advance ? I thought there was a void or something like that ?

Unfortunately no unless the trader will be willing to wait for you, which would be tricky especially if they are in boxes already.

Trading works by you would have the open spot, you then go to the person trading the villager, buy it (with w/e currency) then talk to them as they're in boxes and invite them in, provided you have an open plot on your island. This is much the same as finding them via island tours as you have to have space open on your island for villagers to appear on the islands in the first place.

Pretty sure if you talk to a villager who's moving out while you have no slots available you simply won't get the option to invite them and the dialogue will likely loop.

You have at least one day but it's better to not risk it.
