I remember the AC:Wild World where there only existed Cosmo, Rose, Tulip and Pansy. Life was grand and making hybrids was simple. Today there are also Lily, Violet and Carnation to take care of which brings even more hybrid kinds to breed. All these flower fields are taking up a lot of space.

How did you arrange your flower and hybrid-breeding fields in your town?
And how do you prevent hybrids from being trampled?

I haven't had that prob yet, but my plan is to surround select hybrids with hedges/shrubs. They can still be watered with the gold can, as long as I plant in a pattern that accommodates the can's spray. Worse case, I'll just dig up and re-plant a hedge each day, as a gateway within if necessary. That's my working plan, for the moment. =}

Whenever I started with just one breeding pair, I kept them on the farthest part of the beach I could and went down to water them every day. There's a fence PWP that I believe protects them, but there's only room for six flowers at a time. I'd leave a few down there and move whatever else spawned into the rest of town. Now I have them scattered all over town near buildings and PWPs - ie, in front of my house where there are also some street lamps so no one is/was able to move on top of them. I also have patches with, say, water wells or yield signs in the middle for that. I haven't had a problem with villagers tramping flowers!

I put them on the beach for breeding / storage purposes. They don't get trampled and villagers seldom plant their own thing by my hybrid grounds due to the location.

I actually keep two of each hybrid in storage in case I need to make more. But I pretty much grew my hybrids on the beach and near PWPs so that villagers could not place their house right on top of them.

But I've managed to fit a lot in my town. I surround them with patterns of my path and around buildings. I mostly keep the hybrids. The only problem I have though is that I like having my flowers either be completely surrounded by patterns (to discourage breeding and no villager planting) but there are a lot of areas where my flowers are in the checkerboard pattern because they look better that way. It's really annoying to keep an eye on them because villagers will water them and cause other flowers to bloom or they will plant their own flowers.

I really wanna get a qr code for the different grass colors and then put those inbetween the flowers and then surround them so it doesn't look weird and will discourage any breeding or planting.

Oh they grow on the beach? I have an entire patch that I rarely use, that could be a great storage area.

I breed hybrids on the beach, and place any flowers and hybrids where I need them. I find them quite manageable, apart from the random ones that appear with BTO.

I started to breed my favorite hybrids on the beach since my town was getting so crowded with them all. I also breed hybrids I don't really care for in the corners of my town so they're out of the way. Also day by day I would pick up the ones that grew and place them along the paths I have/around houses or PwP. It's coming along slowly, but it'll get there.

If I may offer a solution? When you make this circle of bushes, plant a tree on one of them. Wait for the tree to grow, then cut it down (even better with a silver axe to get a pattern!) and then to get in and out of it, just hop on the stump and scoot around! I've found that to be my little shortcut when making paths with bushes and such.

As for the flower question, I have had a LOT of flowers all over my town set up for the sole reason to make hybrids. However, once I've gotten a sufficient amount of a certain colored flower, I start making more... designy patterns with them instead of the diagonal set up, or lower the numbers significantly. Only recently got rid of about 50 flowers I had set up in a pattern because it was just taking up too much room. Once I get enough hybrids, I'll lower the amount which should lower my daily watering chore from 45 minutes to... hopefully 15?

Hybrids can breed with each other so basically, once you get some hybrids going, you can replace half of your regular flowers with the hybrids ones. Right?

This is my town right now. The hyrids are collected at the plaza but room is few.

Most of the flowers in my town are hybrids. Tulips and roses mostly in black, pink, purple, orange and red. Some cosmos in pink and orange, some lilies in black. Violets are always purple. I like arranging my flowers in bi-color blocks of 4, 6 or 8, such as black and pink, purple and blue, orange and white, red and black, etc. My town has narrow and twisting paths and my flowers are everywhere, so that it all feels more woodsy and natural than big city-like. I love my flowers. :)

I've ruined a few valuable flowers including jacobs ladders and blue roses from running (I'm a bit impatient that way). I kind of controlled my running a little bit and walked in the spots where I have my hybrids. I don't care too much about ruining the regular flowers although I still have a lot in my town as my villagers looove planting them.

I breed mine on the beach, and have a thin strip of land on the North of my map, between the river and main street. This bit of land is too thin for placing a house, so I have flower breeding arrangements here too, and it can fit a lot!

Is there still a need to keep Yellow Violet and Yellow Rose around, once you have several Blue violets and Orange Roses that can produce hybrids of their own colour?
