Flowers becoming "un-watered"

If you leave flowers in your pockets for a certain amount of time, do they become un-watered? This morning I watered all of my hybrids on the beach, but after decided to move around my breeding arrangement, where I kept two of each on the beach and put the rest somewhere else, the ones I put somewhere else (hence were in my pockets the longest) were not sparking anymore (which is a good thing because the new arrangement requires only the two of each to be watered), therefore Im not complaining, just wondering if this is a bug or supposed to happen... ?

If you pick up the flowers, you will have to re-water them.

Just think. Picking up flowers, and putting them in your pockets in real life. They're definitely going to get dried off in your pockets.
It's isn't a bug, it's just Nintendo and it's awesome realism that they implemented in the game again!

YAY that's great because I wanted them un-watered. I had no idea this was a thing in the game, and did it without realising. Now Im happy :D Thank you :)

I'm not sure about this. I've seen flowers sparkle after I've moved them (after watering). But I don't know if they lose the effect and just keep sparkling anyway.

I had them in my pockets for a long time, if that makes any difference? Because I was confused too as I've moved flowers after watering and instantly placed them somewhere else, and they kept sparkling. But this time they were in my pockets for a while before I placed them down again.

It sounds plausible that this would cause them to become "unwatered"... I have no idea, but it makes sense. But if you want to be sure they don't make hybrids, maybe just place them away from each other/other compatible flowers.

It's just that I'm trying out this method, which says only the 4 pairs of flowers you want to breed should be watered, so I was trying to take every measure to make sure it worked by not having anything else watered, but good point about not placing them near any flowers... for some reason I did not think of that...

I've noticed it doesn't seem to be the FLOWERS that have the watered status, but the GROUND. Put an unwatered flower onto a patch of ground that you have watered, and it will sparkle!

This is it, you got it. When you water flowers, you water the ground under them. They don't absorb water through their petals.

This exactly. I will water the patch I'm tending and bring back any random hybrids I find later because it's already watered. Moving flowers will "unwater" them, definitely.

But I've moved flowers I've watered to unwatered patches and they still sparkle... 0_o Though I didn't know that about the ground and I'm going to try that as soon as I load up this morning. lol

ETA: Though before I had my gold watering can they didn't when I moved them. I just thought maybe it was a perk of the golden can. You water them once and they stay watered... They didn't sparkle when I moved them and had just watered with my regular can.
