Pokémon First TBT Pokémon Tournament!

I guess this can be the spiritual successor to the old announced TBT Pokemon League.

Well it looks like everyone wants megas, so they're allowed.

We have a prize pool of 0 bells... Donating isn't required, but no prize pool is a bit sad.

Also, do we have an idea on a rule set? My main team uses mega Swampert, so I'd like to know if new megas are ok or if I'll have to replace him :)

It's allowed, but some people are using XY, so have a back up in case you fight one of them.

Mega Mawile and Mega Kangaskhan are pretty ridiculous. I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know what is and isn't allowed. I like to follow Smogon's list and not use any Ubers they've listed. I'm not entering this tourney or anything, but I feel like those would be a couple cheapies if people used them.

Edit: Also, I'll donate to the prize pool if you get one started up.

What if I have a Pokemon that is UU but has an Uber moveset as considered by Smogon?

Are you only talking about Uber Megas or Uber others?

Just certain Uber Megas since they pack the biggest punch. I wouldn't expect everyone to know and memorize all of Smogon's uber movesets. Hell, I hardly know any of them myself. I don't think people should have to base their team specifically to counter Mega Kangaskhan's Parental Bond or Mega Mawile's Sucker Punch. As someone who has both of them I know how big of an annoyance they can be.

But it's shown in the Pokemon Championship games that those Megas can be countered...

By the way, I'm not arguing with you. I actually suggested to Kirby that certain Megas be banned since they had a problem with Megas in general. They said it's all or nothing so...

Yeah, I see where you're getting at. I honestly am still a learning competitive Pokemon battler myself so I don't know a lot of the counters. I didn't know the rules had been set for all or nothing for the megas. I guess if it's already set and stone nothing can be done. Good luck to those who are entering!

I don't have a problem with megas, I was just trying to give fair play to people who only had XY. This is also the first tournament I've seen here, so I don't know what to expect. I'm just setting out a basic outline, and we'll see if it works or not. These are the rules for this one tournament, and the next one could have an entirely different ruleset. If M-Khang turns out to be incredibly overused, then the next tournament host can ban it. Maybe nobody will use it, it's just to see what works and what doesn't, as well as if people like it or not.

Mega kangaskhan often requires a specific counter embedded into a team that is why it is difficult.

And before anyone yells, I said "often".
