There's 4 Smash Tournaments happening right now and I've never seen a Pok?mon tournament so... here's one!

Rules
This will be Battle Spot doubles. So you bring a team of 6, but only use 4. Any legendaries banned in battle spot are also banned here. All megas are allowed, but some users are using X and Y, so if you use an ORAS mega, make sure to have a backup just in case. Winner of each match will be best 2 out of 3.

Sign Ups
I'll do 16 people to start off since I don't know if many people will sign up, but I can extend it to 32 if that many people join.
1. PuffleKirby21

2. Monkey D Luffy

3. Dumbness

4. Silversea

5. mdchan

6. Zigzag991

7. Norski

8. Capella

9. Autem

10. xxTomxx

11. ThePikaTube

12. FuzzyBengal247

13. MrSora00

Sounds like fun, though I'm not really into competitive battling (although I have looked it up a bit). I don't even remember where I left off in breeding. XD

Before I put my name down and try to scratch my head over my team, I feel I should point out that the rules are a little vague.

I agree that banning legendaries is a good idea (I never use them in battles anyway, to be honest), and I think the concept of "no megas" is interesting as it goes back to the basics...
...but what about the rest of the rules? Will it be following the rules (and-or tiers) like on Smogon, or will it be closer to the rules used in the VGC?
A lot of people follow Smogon for online battling, while others don't (I personally don't, but in a random WiFi battle, someone disconnected on me when I put two of their pokemon to sleep).

Which legendaries are banned in battle spot? Only "high tiers" with OP stats or also "rubbish" ones like zapdos, mesprit and co?

Nevermind, question answered with google.

For those who didn't know: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie

Which makes these pokemon "legal": zapdos, moltres, articuno, raikou, suicune, entei, latias, latios, mesprit, azelf, uxie, heatran, landorus, thundurus, tornadus, virizion, cobalion and terrakion.

It'll be just battle spot rules. So if you want to use Dark Void Moody Smeargle, then go ahead. No more than 2 of the same Pok?mon, and no more than 2 of the same item.

I think I'll join then. Need to start farming BP for one of my last battle items.

I suppose I'll join, then. I'll prolly lose the first round, and I've never used Battle Spot before, but it could be fun.

I'll enter, of course...

TBH, I'd rather there be no legends. I'm okay with megas.

For the losers bracket idea, maybe just to determine third place?

I dunno...I frankly don't think I'll even make it that far, since I tend to use my favorite pokemon for battles over popular/strong competitive pokemon. I'm also more of a nuzlocker than a competitive battler, so...I'll frankly be surprised if I make it past the first round. XD

There's either a loser's bracket the entire time, or there's none at all. Sorry.

You should use Pok?mon you like! That's what I do and I've been doing pretty well myself. Everything can be used in some way, just find out that way. I have a competitive Phone so that should show that anything can work.

I think we should use Smogon and ban mega kangaskhan and use sleep clause and such.

.../sarcasm

.../after sarcasm wonders if it is actually a good idea

I am actually deathly afraid of Mega Kangaskan... However, I am also deathly afraid of dolphins and those aren't banned...yet.

But I think we can all agree that we need to ban Pachirisu.

There's no reason to be scared of any of these in a doubles format. With two Pokemon out on the field, every Pokemon has twice the possibility of facing a threat. Just make sure you have an answer to it on your team.

Eh...I'm just entering for fun, so I'm not worried about any of the stuff I could be up against. Though, I really don't want to have to battle legendaries.
I can just imagine that...pitting my favorite pokemon (all of which are non-legendaries) up against Mewtwo X/Y. Yea, that'll go over well...for the other person. In one turn. ^^;;

But I like Pachirisu! It's been on my team since before the last VGC's (despite the fact that I've had all of...two? Three?...WiFi battles)! Granted, I never got mine to work as well as his did, but I think that was because it didn't have IVs in the right places (or a nature beneficial to its role).
