so as you probably know early in the game you have to build the furniture for the three houses of the villagers you invited with your nook miles tickets, i was lucky enough to get maple, audie and sherb to move in. i seriously love them but i noticed that the interior for these three houses isn't the actual interior the characters usually have (sherb usually has the blue cute set but in my island it's a dirt room with fruit furniture). i feel like the answer is no but does anyone know if their is a way for them to change to their actual interior?

you're correct ! this is why im fortunate to have an amiibo card for one of my '1/3 villagers';
and i plan on re-inviting them to get their ACTUAL interiors. i hate how nintendo have done this.

This kinda feels like a weird oversight. You'd think it would be something they'd start changing after other villagers start moving in.

Yup, and worst thing is, no matter how many wallpapers/floorings/big furniture you gift them, they don't seem ready to change anything, they only display the small stuff. The rest stays the same. Audie, Sherb & Cally have absolutely generic houses on my Island now, I wish there was an easier way than kicking them out and hoping to find them again on a mystery tour for them to have their real interior design...
They don't use big furniture items or wallpaper/flooring. Not to mention where they place it will not match with where it should go for their normal houses. Only option is to get them to leave then reinvite them.
I swear whenever Nintendo goes a step in the right direction they take another three step back.

I mean, like, it wouldn't be so bad if the initial 5 villagers at least BEGAN to update their houses as soon as the campsite is unlocked and the forced 6th villager moves in.
