Finding fish

Hi
Do you have to get to a certain point to find fish spawning at the pier? Since I started I've not seen one let alone caught one.

Fish will appear at random spots but they'll appear at the pier as well. It's all random.
However, if I remember correctly, some fish won't appear until you caught a number of different fishes before then (same with insects as well). Using fishing bait will also spawn a fish at the pier.

Ahh I will try some bait and see if that helps. The fishing has been my favourite part so I'm eager to catch the fish that spawn at the pier. Thanks

Good luck. The specific fish that only appears at the pier at rare and valuable. Most of the time it's the lesser rare fish that appears nears it that can also appear anywhere on the island.
