After 4 months, I am finally able to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf by digitally downloading the game to my 3DS. The main reason why I was prevented from playing before was due to six pins in the Game Card slot becoming bent, (I have no idea how it even became that way either...) which is sad as I always thought Nintendo made things to last. I have only had it for almost 2[SUP]1/2[/SUP] years. I hope that Nintendo fixes the durability of their handhelds in their next iteration...

I'm kinda wondering if you did anything that could've maybe caused the problem

since thats something I've never experienced

I think it may have been partially due to keeping my New Leaf cart in the Game Card slot for almost 2 months straight along with the heat my city was experiencing in November/December 2014. (Phoenix, Arizona, USA if that's any hint!)

Oh yeah, I've heard about Arizona heat from a friend who went to school there. That combined with leaving the cartridge in for so long sounds like a likely explanation...

I keep cartridges in 24 7 and no problems.
You do know the cartridges label faces you not the console

I didn't know that you could damage cartridges by keeping them in the 3DS for months straight, I've done that with ACNL and other games before. The heat sounds like a more likely explanation if it could make the pins more fragile.

Nintendo's things are pretty durable in my experience. I sometimes find my old GB games and try them to see if they'll work and they still do, which is impressive considering how badly I treated them.

Hmm, that's the first time I've heard of that happening. I've been unknowingly doing that with all of my old systems :( Glad that you're able to play again!

Yeah? I did know that ._. (The frickin' cart can't even go in the console the other way...)
