Just curious how long it took everyone, mainly with the island gift shop. I usually island hop for hours each day and I'm still missing the chocolate, bottled ship, sanshin, tropical wallpaper and some of the wetsuits. D:

Ugggh, I am not looking forward to doing that... but maaaan, I really want the bottled ship for my house, even if it doesn't fit the rustic theme. I really want a pink wetsuit, too, and I've read that they're hard to find.

It's all about luck. I tend to find lots of blue and striped wet suits, but it took days to find a red one. I think orange is the only color I haven't seen. If finding something proves to be too difficult, you could try buying it from someone here.

I'm not looking forward to that either ;-;. You can always buy them on Re-Tail by the way, which I think I will do ◕ ◡ ◕.
If you're just focused on completed your catalog and not owning them, I know some people let others catalog for free or in exchange for items they need to catalog. If you're just doing it all by yourself without trading or catalog exchanges, I think it would take a very long time.

I played this game straight for over a year doing everything the hard way, then i completed a lot of the remaining "orderables" catalog from HHA showcase houses I'd streetpassed. that whetted my appetite to find the foreign DLC/non-reorderable items which is what brought me to internet acnl forums to begin trading with other gamers. I eventually did the same to finish up my fortune cookie and island items collection.
I did a ton of island hopping on my own and got almost everything that way, but i got sick of dealing with the trolls and just came here to purchase the remaining wetsuits i needed...

Yeah the trolls is what's starting to annoy me. I like the satisfaction of knowing I got everything on my own but people flipping their wifi switches or pushing me out f the way & starting a tour without sitting down.. Ughhh. Maybe I will start doing exchanges :/
