Is anybody else absolutely baffled at the fact that all of the Christmas stuff (festive) isn't available until December 15th??? That only gives us ten days to get all of the recipes, materials, and decorate our island? I need more time than that! We had the entire month of October for Spooky stuff. It just doesn't seem right. And I kind of think the Ice furniture should start when "snow season" starts too.

I agree that some of the dates for the seasonal recipes are very tight windows. Especially considering you're so limited in how you acquire those recipes (so. many. stupid. balloons.)

Wow! That’s crazy. I definitely need more time than that to decorate.. it took me the entire month to decorate for Halloween 😅

I think I would prefer the balloons over the snowmen, even though I'm tired of the balloons.

The Festive season actually runs from December 15th until January 6th. We have 22 days, unlike the maple and cherry blossom seasons. But I understand that many people want their islands fully decorated before December 25th.

Winter season begins on November 26th. But snowflakes only appear from December 11th until February 24th.

That's a bit disappointing. It was the same with getting those diy's (carriage, wallpaper etc) on Halloween night, I would have liked to use them for decoration like the others throughout the month. It's almost as if they want us to TT.

I've been thinking about the upcoming Harvest Festival as well...

Is it going to be released late November? How early can we decorate for Thanksgiving? Are they going to cause us more trouble by mixing the Harvest DIYs with the maple recipes on balloons?

I was over Halloween in ACNH long before Oct 31st even came around, so 10 days sounds about right to me. I don't play enough to be able to collect everything in that timeframe but that's fine. Take the pressure off yourself to obtain everything this year and it doesn't seem so bad.

I like to decorate early around the 1st so to be honest, I'm not really happy with the fact that it starts on December 15th. For those of us who work fulltime or have holiday commitments it doesn't allow for enough time to hunt for the DIYs and set up our islands before Christmas day. 12/15 is a Sunday, which leaves only two weekend days before Xmas day to play. I think they need to be more mindful that not everyone can play at the same times or on the same days and should make it available earlier. After all if you're interested in starting events closer to Xmas day there's nothing stopping you from waiting, but those of us who want an early start have no other choice.

I feel like this is the point. The game is meant to be played for years. There's no need to collect everything right away, or you'll have nothing to look forward to. I feel like they might make it hard to collect these recipes on purpose so players still have something to do next year.

Same with the bug and fishing tourneys. Yes you can collect and grind everything during one tourney. Or you could just chill and wait for the next one.

That actually sounds fair to me. You have the Snowman and its DIYS to keep you busy before hand, Hannukah starts on the 10th, so getting the festive diys and the christmas change for the town on the 15th and after works for me.

DIYS aren't that hard to get and if you don't get one thing, well thats just something to look forward to next year. I can see players complaining that there are no new diys when the next seasons come.

Darn. I may have to time travel. I'm ready to decorate.

(I don't regularly play the game anymore, so time traveling now won't make me feel guilty lol. I resisted any temptation up to now.)

this may sound strange, but maybe they don't want you to be able to get all of the stuff? that way you still have something to do come next year.

The seeming time disconnect may also have to do with the fact that the season/ events are influenced by Japanese seasonal events, even though they incorporate a lot of western holidays - like Halloween and American thanksgiving that are not celebrated there.

Christmas in Japan it is more of a couple’s holiday/ marketing holiday. Only about 1% of Japan is Christian and it is not as big a holiday as in the west, (it is also associated with fluffy white cake, fried chicken and Tokyo Disney)

New Years is the big holiday (celebrated on Jan 1, not in the lunar new year like Chinese New Year). In Japan New Years is when the whole country has a holiday (is off from work, most businesses closed, etc).

Personally, 10 days seems like a lot of time to decorate and collect recipes. Then again, I am not really planning to do a lot of special decoration (and I did think the Halloween lead up was a bit too long). All of December would have been a lot for me and really not given us much time for normal winter seasonal stuff, since it would have run right into the harvest festival stuff (whatever that ends up being)

At this point I'm just TTing and playing the game at my own leisure because daily play isn't in my interests anymore, so I'll probably just TT and get everything I want from Xmas the day the update drops and then TT back if I feel like playing after. I still have the actual Halloween date to play because I intended on waiting it out and instead lost interest by then, but I refuse to have that happen and miss Jingle!

I've been thinking about the upcoming Harvest Festival as well...

Remember that nature day update for Earth day that they released the day after the actual day? Anything could happen.

I think it is far too late to start Christmas. I have always put the tree up on the first weekend of December. After Boxing Day I think it’s all over. Always feels wrong starting a new year when the tree is still up but I don’t want to risk bad luck 🙈

I have already starting decorating a small (ish 😊) section of my island with Christmas stuff. I just love the sparkle and magic of Christmas 😍 I don’t TT but was so very lucky to win giveaway with all the festive diys so it was impossible not to be tempted to start getting into the festive spirit ❄⛄🎁

I just TT for DIY at this point. When I'm having a mindless day with time I hope forward to start my seasonal DIYs. Plus December is a really busy month for me personally and work wise. I play this game for fun and what's fun to me is getting my island into a seasonal spirit. Also not having DIY to collect next year is fine to me.

12/15 is on a Tuesday this year. You really only have one weekend after that before Christmas. And as I work full time in retail, I won't have that weekend off.

I guess it makes sense with Christmas not being a big deal in Japan. But this kind of ties in with my other thought that it'd be really cool if they had a bunch of important holidays from all over the world, and depending on where you're from, things could be different in your game, compared to somebody playing in Japan or France. Of course that would be a lot of work, and maybe not even really possible for this game. Just a nifty idea. I just wish I could get the DIY stuff and decorate earlier without having to TT, but... I might cave and do it for this stuff. Still not doing it until December though.

I wish that the lights started on Dec. 1. It would take a lot of pressure off. I did cave and tt, just for the illuminated deer (I did get a couple more diys but I’m not crafting any until the season starts).
