This sucks so bad. Could they spawn feathers any less frequently? Could this dude give me ANYTHING BUT A PAVE BED? I'm three for three on those now.
And my villagers are robbing me blind with their games.
Edit: It looks like you need to hold on to the items to avoid duplicates. Not sure if that's true, but since I stopped putting the bed into inventory, I've gotten unique stuff.

For collecting feathers, I've been attaching the colour I'm collecting to letters, but you can put them on the ground once you've caught them.
I like charades best, but I hate playing Made Ya Look and Rock Paper Scissors - my record is 5 rounds (draw) before finally winning.
EDIT: He gave me one of those repeat bookshelves while I was still holding another one, and the third while those 2 were at my beach. It is oddly addictive though, watching my feather collection multiply...

I just realized how much work it's going to be to get the full set. Oh my, oh my, oh my... I've been running around for about 20 minutes now and my eyes are already beginning to play tricks on me. But I was lucky enough to find two rainbow feathers within 30 seconds. I guess this will be a looong day. But thanks for your helpful post, J087! 
Just a tip, I found that I could save some time running along the beach instead of on the grass. I've found 4 feathers in the first few minutes, though none of them are the ones I'm looking for, ahaha. Good luck catching these annoying things
Yeah, checking the beach is helpful. At the moment I'm trying to focus on shadows on the ground and on the horizon, because you'll easily make out feathers floating there. That keeps me from staring at confetti which just makes my eyes go nuts.
If you're having trouble finding the feathers floating around (or get bored trying to talk to the outside villagers without whacking them with the net by accident), try talking to the villagers in their houses - they might trade. Even outside villagers are trading with me, and I'm finding success if I only get one feather out of them at a time, then move on to another villager, or hunt for feathers.

He keeps giving me chairs, even though I need plenty of other Pave items. I'm also wondering if Pave is a guy or a girl. I always thought he was a guy but he has the voice of a peppy villager? x3
