okay, so i've been having a recurring issue in my cycling and it's starting to drive me insane, so i'm hoping someone can give me some answers.
i've had many cycling towns over the past two years, and i use the foolproof cycling method (one year and five days back + one year forward + five days forward) to cycle. in every single town, i've had one specific villager that refuses to move no matter how many villagers i go through. in one of my first towns, it was bam. in my most recent one, it was julian. now, it's merengue and paula, but paula has been there longer. keep in mind i've cycled out 20-40+ villagers and paula is still there.
i know that if i break the cycle and start talking to the villagers and relying on pings, i can eventually--slowly--get them to move like they would in a normal town. but i'm really curious to know if anyone else that uses this method has run into this problem before, and if they've found a way to fix it without breaking the cycle, or if they've figured out why it keeps happening. it is seriously driving me nuts and i can't seem to find a reason for it.
