What are some features that you have both positive and negative feelings towards?
I can think of two (one of which got removed in the Welcome Amiibo update):
#1 - Villagers Coming To Your House Unannounced:
There is something about these unannounced/unplanned visits by villagers, who you have a high enough friendship with, that drives me mad, but at the same time makes me SO FREAKING HAPPY! They catch you off-guard. These villagers tend to know when you are, and when you are NOT expexting/thinking about it. What you are worrying/thinking about it, and/or even trying to make it happen by standing in your house for a prolonged period of time, these villagers are like "Nah. I will barge in on them when they are not expecting it. It's more fun that way! >
"
But when you are NOT expecting it. That's usually when they do it. Like, "SURPSISE, b**ch! >
". These kinda make me release an anger outburst because that's how I sometimes react to getting caught off-guard. XDDDD
But at the same time, there is something that makes me feel sooooooo happy, euphoric even, about my favorite villager coming to ME for a change, let alone surprising me suddenly like that. It's a "rarer" feature, and I love how there are features that are exclusively with villagers you are close to. Not to mention, they go out of the way to give you a gift, and even if it's not something you want, it's still a sweet gesture! <3
Now, these unplanned visits have happened to me multiple times throughout the 100s of towns I have made and deleted, but tonight I got my first one in Utopia. And I also learned two things during this, rather-odd-timed once, I should say.
So, I had my 3DS closed and sitting on the table behind my bed, while I was just doing other stuff. I decide to get on and I barely see a textbox. I was like, "Oh, God. This is not what I think it is, isn't it? o_o".
IT WAS! o_o Rooney walks right in. I FREAK OUT, because first of all, he was already over at like 2:30PM or 3:00PM (which this one was discussed beforehand), and I thought the same villager could not visit twice in the same day. And second of all, I thought 10:10PM was too late in the day for villagers to barge in on you. I thought after 9:00PM, they couldn't do it anyone that day.
Now, I obviously felt that an "unannounced visit" was coming eventually. I just didn't know that it could happen if:
* The same villager was already over earlier that day
* It was 9:00PM or later
So, I definitely wasn't expecting it, or even thinking about it, when it did happen.
But at the same time, I love that kangaroo more than the game itself, so to have him surprise me like that under odd circumstances really made my night. :,)
#2 - Sick Villagers:
This was (un)fortunately remove in the Welcome Amiibo update. But I though I'd talk about it anyway.
I think we can all agree that seeing our favorite villagers sick is heartbreaking. When this happened, I wanted to Skidoo into my game and give said villager a big hug, without caring if I got sick too.
However, the bonding with them, being able to bring them medicine, and their appreciation was absolutely beautiful. And it was really sweet seeing the other villagers' concern for them as well. Plus it was a nice way to raise friendships with villagers.
