for 3DS, i've gotta go with Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies, Zero's Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Rune Factory 4, and Tales of the Abyss

i have too many favorites to pick just one, but if i had to, i'd go with AAI2 and Zero's Escape. the storylines are way too damn compelling for me to not call my faves. storylines make games for me and those two have some of the greatest stories in the history of games imo

The World Ends With You, Pokemon HeartGold, Pokemon Black, Pokemon Black 2, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, Rune Factory, Professor Layton games and Ace Attorney games are my favorite DS Games.

3DS wise Pokemon X, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Rune Factory 4, Professor Layton games, and Fire Emblem Awakening are my favorites.

As for the 3DS it's definitely Fire Emblem: Awakening, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Rune Factory 4, Aaaaaaand....Yeah. I WOULD say Pokemon X/Y, but I feel like it's lacking.....(( Please don't hate me for that..))

Ganbare Goemon: Tōkai Dōchū Ōedo Tengu ri Kaeshi no Maki aka Japan DS only Mystical Ninja. But only cause it's my favorite weird series and obviously it was an import wooo, it plays region free on any 3DS. (as do any DS game on a 3DS apparently) but as for English speaking titles I liked Warioware Touched, LoZ Phantom Hourglass and Legendary Starfy.

Boo I wish I could find 999 in it's box. I'm combing through game stores here trying to find it but it's like gone...

My favorite DS game is quite definitely New Super Mario Bros. Even though I lended it to my nephew, I fondly remember the game being the most enjoyable and made quite an impact when I first got the game. It felt exhilarating after waiting a decade or so for a 2D Mario platformer that isn't a remake/port/spinoff.

As for the 3DS, I can't decide between Animal Crossing: New Leaf, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Kid Icarus: Uprising. They are my favorite games for the system as of now.

Good luck! I lucked out when a Gamestop got it in with the box. And if you decide to just give up, just ask for a box to put it in and then print out the box art.
