classical music is by far my favourite genre and i just wanted to know who your favourite composers are

mine are probably shostakovich, debussy, desplat, satie and tchaikovsky

i loooove shotakovich, i used to be in an orchestra and we played symphony no. 10

such a great piece.

Since we're talking of the genre I love Chopin a lot, i also love Erik Satie as well too :3

my favourite is shostakovich's 2nd waltz, fell in love with it when i played it in orchestra few years ago because theres a wicked cello melody

I'm pretty lame, I'm not in Orchestra, only school band stuff (I was in a community band but I quit). I would say Mozart since I've listened to a few songs and so far I've enjoyed it.

mozart's requiem in d minor is so so pretty

omg I played it a few years ago too. It's a lovely piece <3
The 1st violin part <3

I haven't listened to that (I'll get to it though), but over the Summer I was obsessed with opera and I liked his Queen of the Night Aria (I'm pretty sure he composed it) xD Also, I liked his Clarinet Concerto (I'm biased since I play clarinet)

I don't particularly listen to classical (although I do appreciate it, very beautiful music) so I'll admit I mostly just like Beethoven because of Moonlight Sonata. Gorgeous.

I really like listening to Liszt's songs, too bad I can barely play them because a lot of them require super large hands lol this is one of my favourite songs!

in terms of composers whose songs I enjoy playing, I really love Haydn, esp his sonatas :)

Aww, not one person has mentioned Joe Hisashi yet! He's a big part of why I enjoy Miyazaki's films so much c: Will also leave a piece by Chopin here since it was stuck in my head all day yesterday:

I love me some Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

Flop loves his Mussorgsky as well.

I'm going to be very basic and say Bach for his cello suites, because to me listening to them is very therapeutic, enjoyable, and it helps me focus on homework. (I especially love it when Yo-Yo Ma plays it.) Of course I love most everything he has composed, this is just my favorite.

Then, I also adore Tchaikovsky. His ballet music is my absolute favorite - I always feel like a princess listening to it hahaha. And I have to say that classical music is so much better live. I went to a performance of the Nutcracker put on by San Francisco Ballet and AHHHHHH EMOTIONS. I love classical music so much.

Favorite Tchaikovsky songs of mine:

But! On a not entirely unrelated note, if any of you in this thread love classical music and like watching anime, I would recommend Nodame Cantabile to you. There's so much classical music in that show, it's lovely.
