Rowlet! I like all of the grass starters, but there is something so perfect about Rowlet's design, plus, a Rowlet plushie is one of my most prized Pokemon plushies.
I love the Chikorita line, despite never having used it myself. Since I always picked Totodile as a kid, my rival always had Meganium and I just really loved the idea of this really nasty mean kid having this sweet gentle dinosaur as his starter, lol. I felt it was appropriate somehow given his character arc too.
Turtwig also marks the only time I ever chose a grass starter in a Pokemon game, in Platinum. Torterra is just such an awesome design.
I loved Rowlet when it was first revealed and thought it might end up my favorite, but I don't really like it's evolutions much :c
I actually grew really attached to my treeko (Grovyle now) back in the day.. he went on a few adventures in different games with me. He wasn't shiny or anything, I just like treeko a lot hahahah.
I voted for Snivy, because I think he looks really cool. He is one of those Pok?mon I don't want to evolve because the first form is the cutest. I don't like that he slowly loses his hands and feet as he evolves. lol
Hot take: Bulbasaur is the best Pokemon. But years after I played Pokemon Red, I picked up Pokemon Platinum and Turtwig grew close to my heart. I kind of regret getting rid of that cartridge, even though it would be ten years later before I played through Ultra Moon. Yes, I got a new Turtwig. Yes, Torterra is happily holding down my party.
I really like Bulbasaur and Turtwig. The former because I have a soft spot for it since it was my very first pokemon ever, and the latter because Torterra has a nice defense stat and the ground type covers its weakness to fire.
I picked my pal since diamond and pearl - turtwig!!
I've always had a connection to this little earth turtle after I chose it at the beginning of my dp adventure! It felt wrong to pick something else, but treeko would definitely have been my second go-to-pick! Grass isnt normally one of my favourite types in the Pokemon games but I can't deny that abomasnow was a beast.
It's tough choosing between Bulbasaur and Treecko for me. On one hand, Treecko was my first ever Pokemon so I have a soft spot for Treecko. On the other, Bulbasaur is easily the best competitively (Venusaur is a beast and was OU from Gen 2 to Gen 6, and idc what anyone says Venusaur is still a beast) and is also the most fun to use. Ultimately, I'm gonna go with Bulbasaur. Sorry Treecko, you'll still always be my second favorite Grass starter.
I love Bulbasaur and Chickorita's designs, they feel more like unique creatures than remixed animals (yes I know Bulb's a frog but they have more unique elements and chimerisms than for example Froakie). I picked Bulbasaur because their also fun to use as a starter - I loved cheesing Blue version with the buggy toxic and leech seed stack.
Bulbasaur will always be my favourite starter. I grew up with picking him as my starter and would still do so if given the chance. Plus in the original anime - he protected my favourite pokemon ever - Oddish. (A bit showing my age on this comment lol)
