Fall Update - Please Help

Hello, I need help with the fall update.

I just started my island yesterday night at around 8:00 PM. I updated my game (it says 1.50 version) but as I played last night and again today, I see no fall items.

My friend is able to go to the raccoons and get candy and pumpkin seeds, etc. but none of that is available to me, I see nothing but regular items.

As far as where I'm at, I've paid off my original 5,000 mile debt, the owl has his tent now, I've just initiated the process to upgrade from tent to home, etc. So I am beyond the original "starting area". When I checked the store today, I have new items that weren't there last night, so the game has updated as far as seeing it as a new day, however, again no fall items.

It really just seems like nothing updated and I cant figure out if I need to give it a day or so or what may be the issue...

Anyone have advice?

You might have to wait until your resident services upgrades from the tent. But, you should still be able to find the spooky DIY recipes from balloon drops.

If you get impatient, you can always go to your friend's island and shop at their stores too. And if their villagers are crafting any spooky recipes, you can talk to them and get it too.

The pumpkin starters and candy will likely be available once the shop has been built.

I can give you some pumpkins to plant if you'd like? I think you wont be able to get them until nooks cranny or lief.

Only available to purchase from a built shop, should Lief come by, you should be able to purchase pumpkins from him.

But as others said, you can still get the DIYs randomly from balloons, villagers crafting and bottles.

Hmm, that is very weird. I only started playing a few days ago, and when I updated mine with the new update it was very clear that the Halloween stuff was present. Nook did one of those little announcements about the Halloween stuff (see picture below from last night), I received a letter from Jack which contained a Halloween themed gift, and Leif appeared in a stand outside of the Raccoon tent. After this happened I was able to get pumpkin seeds (he calls them pumpkin starts) from both Nook and Leif (280 with Nook, 140 with Leif), and buy candy from Nook.

I do know that you are only able to purchase one piece of candy per day on your island, but I do believe if you go visit someone else, you are able to purchase as many as you would like. You can also purchase pumpkin seeds from a friend's island while visiting! There are also balloon presents that appear more frequently that have DIY cards for Halloween themed items, which are pretty neat. I did not have my store built, have not reached that point yet, but I did upgrade my tent to a house.

Yeah I received no such message. Perhaps it will show up tomorrow.... I also do not have Lief (the sloth) showing up

This may sound like a dumb question but have you double checked your Switch has the correct date and time?​

Not a dumb question! I checked, it says October 2nd. So it is correct. I'm hoping maybe it will kick in tomorrow.
