Fall skin up!

The autumn skin by SL is now up!

As you might know, there were some problems with it in IE6, so the default skin corrects this issue. However, the box doesn't have a top or bottom. If you liked it with those on, you can still use the different version that is not the default skin.

There is still a small issue in IE that I will correct later. I will also talk to SL about trying it with out the fade away background since some people said they might like it that way (and that would also correct the IE6 problem I mentioned).

Simplicity was only the second non-AC skin we've ever had here. The first skin we had was non-AC as well... pretty bad too, lol (actually it was just IF default wit a gold background)

I still use simplicity in school and during classes, so as to not draw attention to my monitor ;O


However I love this new skin, so I use it every other chance I get.

There are a few things that someone changed without informing me, some of which I want changed back. But at the moment, I have to eat and go back to school.

Here's the few things that need to be changed -

The names of the skins, the original should be Animal Crossing (Autumn) and the dumbed-down IE one Animal Crossing (Autumn IE6). The category headers with the leaves are better. The darkened submenu links shouldn't have a bottom border when hovered over, that's ugly. The forum icons, forum images, and the few dotted borders in threads can stay.

I'm being extremely picky, as I explicitly told OCM: "This is only the autumn skin, I haven't got the others done yet. This skin is exclusive to The Bell Tree. No editing, removing, or adding anything to the CSS or images without consulting me first."

1) I was never told that. I was told you wanted to make a skin, almost said no at first (because of this exact reason), but why not... However, I don't think it would be fair for the creator to pick every last detail for the skin that is the default design. It's OCM and my job to manage the skin, anyone is free to help out, but if we disagree with something on TBT... it's our job as admins to fix it or figure out something.
2) The name is "Soft Autumn" because if we get another set of season skins it will be darker/bolder like the other skins.
3) Everybody I asked said they liked it better with out leaves and someone said they didn't even know they were leaves in the first place.

Since you made it for Storm, he should be able to change things as he wants. I like it as it is now anyway.

Storm, I didn't tell you, of course, Odd was the one putting up the skin. It was at the end of the long list of codes I gave him, I assumed I'd be taken as seriously as any other person whose skin gets used by other forums.

I don't give a damn what you called it, I made the skin, nobody changed Mona Lisa's name after it was finished.

Nigel, I didn't make it for Storm, like I don't make my other skins for TNR. I make the skin with those forums in mind, yes, but it isn't a team project, I make the skin, change something if I'm convinced to, give it to the forum. If anyone did change something without asking, I wouldn't continue making skins there, TBT is no exception.

These are simple requirements, a nice, mutual look-but-don't-touch deal.
