OK, I know that TBT isn't the best place for this kind of thing, but I've been spreading the word pretty much wherever I go -- I implore you guys to check out this album. It is the best album I've heard in years and have listened to it over 40 times since picking it up a few weeks ago. It is a gem.

Marcin Wasilewski is the most promising jazz pianist from Poland today (and at all, if you ask me). His trio produces consistently great music, but this new album is just mind blowing. The music is very complex but accessible, something that most jazz musicians can't say about their music.

$9.49 for the digital album, you can't go wrong with that price. If you have the slightest, passing interest in jazz or in this album after reading my post, do yourself a favor and support one of the most original and unique artists on the jazz scene today.

Ehhhhhh. Not my type of music, but it's quite nice.
Samples don't really do the motivic development in these pieces justice, though. Wasilewski is a master of improv, with each phrase following logically from the previous one. It's especially evident in the second track, "Night Train To You", which is almost 11 minutes long...
