One of my favourite game franchises and the wintry background is just so fitting for this time of year.

After I stopped playing Splatoon I slowly started to feel less connected to my Smallfry avatar, so few months ago I started thinking about making something new. I still love Smallfries!!! I just wanted an avatar that feels more like me. And for a while now I've felt some connection to white cats/creatures with black eyes and that's where the idea came from.

Animating took waaay too long. I had to relearn the software basically from scratch because I had forgotten most of it. The animation still needs some polishing, and I'm not fully happy with the holiday thingy on its head, but I'm still pretty proud of how it turned out! And I'm really happy that I can finally use it! I love this little guy

I used free animation software DragonBones. First I drew the kitty, then I cut it into pieces (body, legs, tail, head, and facial features), assembled everything back together in DragonBones, added bones and mesh to the body parts, and then animated the character step by step.

Explaining this one again because I still really, REALLY love how this turned out drawn by me with only crayon and watercolors.

It started off as something I was just testing out, but then I began to take my time with it. It surprises me what I can do sometimes if I just focus and have passion, lol now I just have to find that focus and passion again.

I used to have a different version of this avatar which incorporated different collectibles (a Heart Glow Wand and a Pinky) but when I unexpectedly won the Camp Bell Tree 2023 Galaxy Swirl, I knew I had to change it. Here's the old version:
