Expanding the entire house or leaving it unexpanded?

I currently have the main room and top floor of my mayor's house fully expanded whereas both side rooms are medium sized. I don't have a back room or a basement yet. I'm wondering if I should go for a full house expansion or if I should leave the house small and cozy? I still don't know what I want to do with the rooms so it's hard to decide, but I think if I made a bathroom it'd look better in a medium sized room... So I'm scared of expanding my house and regretting it. Thoughts?

There's plenty of furniture to make into a bathroom and you can add a little spa of sorts to make it even better. I'd go with expanding the entire house. I'm going to be making a bathroom and having it at full size. I would make it at full size unless you're specifically trying to make it for people visiting you.

If i could go back in time, i would've left it exactly how you said. You run out of room ideas eventually and the whole thing becomes confusing.. If youre someone who likes many items, as in, you "NEED" that item in your house, and you find yourself doing that a lot, id say expand, but then again you can always expand in the future if you have a new room idea. Dont get stuck having more rooms then you need, because then they're empty.

I left some of the rooms in my houses unexpanded simply because the furniture fit the floor space better. If I had expanded the rooms completely, I probably wouldn't know what to do with all the extra space. I might post pics a little later.

It's up to what you prefer. People who like full interior set themes should go for fully expanded, while if you want something smaller like a bathroom then you don't have to.

I'm thinking of going like this:

Upstairs: 1 room - Bedroom
Main Floor: 3 rooms
---Left Room: Kitchen
---Middle Room: Living/Dining
---Right Room: Office/Study?
Basement: Bathroom

I totally get what you mean- one of my my side characters has a bathroom in her house & I left it at the medium size, not fully expanded. Also the dress room & bedroom upstairs on my other alt.. They feel cozy & just right at that size, so I left few rooms like that on my alt's houses.. Since there's no option to downsize later, I don't wanna regret after fully expanding every single room.

Leave it the way you like it c: ~

I'd recommend leaving it the way it is now.
If you want to expand it in the future, you can do that, but there's no way to go back to small and cosy!
It gives you more options that way.

my mayor's house is fully expanded on all rooms except the basement. im leaving tht only partially expanded.

I always expand all the way because I always have room ideas. I wish I could use my fourth player but I need his house for plot resetting.

I usually expand the entire house, but one of my houses has two smaller rooms, because they look better that way for those particular rooms.

Think about what you want to do with the rooms, then start decorating them while they are still small. This way you will know if you need to expand or not.

I've always had the problem of decorating my house properly instead of just using it as storage space but I also feel like having a full house gives me a satisfaction like I've completed something in the game. (I like having all my games completed).

I suppose if you have better things to spend your bells on it doesn't matter but I like my nice big gold house.

It took me a while to figure out what to do with all my space. The main reason why I fully expanded my house was to get the gold house parts (which is surprisingly easy ._.)

While the rest of my house is fully expanded, except for upstairs because its my mayor's bedroom. If I expanded it, it wouldn't be a bedroom anymore.

I'm still deciding on what to do with each of my rooms, however my mayor's bedroom and bathroom aren't going to be expanded as it wouldn't feel like a bedroom or a bathroom anymore. If I did expand my entire house I would have so much space that I wouldn't know what to do with it.

I always fully expand because I really need all the room I can get. I have more room ideas than the amount of rooms available in one house. I'll need side characters. XD

Well you need the space if you want all the HHA golden house parts and there are plenty of rare and nice sets to fill your house up so it does not look empty! (I even wish that you could get another additional rooms for the top floor so that you have 9 rooms in total to decorate!

I think it's better for you to not expand yet since you said you dont know what to do with all the space. Plus I've seen some awesome towns with just small or medium size rooms and they look awesome! Bathroom usually look better smaller anyways unless your doing a full on spa and bath space. So a cozy house isn't a bad idea. If you absolutely have an idea I would say expand, but since you're undecided, it's probably best to keep it that way for now in case you do regret the decision. Honestly, the gold exterior is also kinda tacky, but that's just my opinion since my whole showcase is almost exclusively filled with them...

I've expanded all the way, just because I had so many room ideas! I didn't pay off my very last payment though, because there' no point in spending 600k if there's no improvement option after it. Shh, don't tell Nook! ^^

I never expand all the way. I just pick the rooms I think will look nice (I can always add them later if I'm sure) and expand them to the size that I need to decorate them the way I want to. I'd get bored if my houses all had all the rooms to their full size.
