Exclusive villagers to New Leaf?

I've seen a few, but honestly who are some villagers new to New Leaf that were never brought back?

The Sanrio Villagers are in the code for ACNH, there's no way to get them, though...

I think the Sanrio characters are available in Pocket Camp; I'm pretty sure I saw a screenshot of Etiole once. But the Zelda Amiibo characters haven't shown up after NL.

Since the code is in the game, it is possible but I don’t think they would be added back.

take Inkwell for example. If you google “Splatoon Amiibo” you’ll get some options - generic orange and blue squid girls starting at $9-13 and then the ones I think spawn Inkwell in from $80-137! Since I’m going to assume they are discontinued Nintendo would have to start making amiibos for another game to operate in a different game, which would be costly for just 2 or 3 Splatoon themed villagers. The only reason they were included was because the Splatoon amiibos were still in production.

Holy crap thank you!! thats crazy that so many were left behind. I know a bit more about villagers forgotten from GC era, but not last gen TY!

Ive heard of Inkwell before, back forever ago I remember looking up villagers based on other games or something. It feels weird that a lot of these characters dont have as much backstory/pizazz
