Have you ever noticed how backwards the villager moving process is?

Best friend: Now that we're best friends I'm going to repeatedly try and leave town. I'm even going to try and move without your knowledge so you'll just wake up and be crushed to see that I'm gone!

Enemy: Oh, you hate me? I'm just going to stay in this town forever.

I kind of wish villagers weren't allowed to leave until they let you know. That would really solve losing villagers. I didn't lose any one, I've just noticed a lot of people have been losing their best friends, and it has happened to me in the past.

I'm pretty sure that it's random when villagers move as long as they're not total strangers to you. The villagers who are best friends with my mayor try to leave just as much as anyone else and it's the middle of the road ones (the ones who are friends but not best friends with my mayor) who try to leave most.

I think the point of making it so that villagers you haven't talked to enough want to stay is so that they can end up being your friends, they even say so sometimes when they change their minds about moving. It's annoying for us but it makes sense that the game would want to teach players about giving others a chance.

I wish the game would have something where you could keep certain villagers from trying to move, at least for a period of time, so you could leave the game without having to worry about doing anything to stop your best friend villagers from moving.

I had this problem with Grizzly before. He was one of my first villagers in town and he would never ping me to move. It was insane! Everybody else would ask me almost 4 times before he eventually moved out. Drove me insane.

I wish it wasn't so backwards, or at least I wish they would wait until you come back on before leaving so they can clear it with you if its ok.

I wish you could just straight up evict villagers. Slap a pink slip on thier door and show up with Copper from the police station on eviction day to ensure they leave town peacefully.

But then it would be too easy, I guess. That's actually a pretty good idea though.

I dislike it and think it's backwards too. You should, at the very least, be able to write letters to and communicate with old "best friend" villagers (though I'm not sure it's possible). I know the game wants you to befriend and then meet all sorts of villagers but not everyone wants that and some of us just want to interact with the villagers we like/want. I like AC because it lets us create our own world (within restrictions, but still), but the things they don't let us have any choice over are really annoying things. I also have other games I want to play and I feel 'stuck' on AC forever because I don't want to lose my favorites.

This is exactly what I wish could happen, especially since I want. Especially when you have a full town.
But I know how you feel. I've been trying to get Wart jr. to leave for the longest and all of my favorite villagers are the ones that keep asking it's so annoying.

I've found it kind of random, I've had both best friend villagers ask to move and villagers who I haven't said a word too.
Although admittedly the villagers I completely ignored did take a lot longer to ask to leave than anybody I was close to.
Even now Lopez has asked to love 4 times when he's sent me his pic twice and everything. Yet Deirdre who I haven't bonded with that much yet has only asked once, and that was a week ago.

I've said before, I really wish there were a better system for moving villagers in out.
More control over it would make the whole experience that less stressful y

Exactly, if they HAD to get approval before moving instead of if you leave for a week and come back and they're in boxes. They should have to get approval from you to move before moving. That is literally the only thing I wish would change, like I don't mind that besties and stuff would want to move because I try to talk to and be friends with everyone so as long as they'd ask first I would be fine with it. I also think you should be able to prompt them to want to move by like asking Isabelle or something. Because it's also really hard to get certain people to leave. Or that when you've reached the 10 villagers that it would go through them one by one so everyone will ask. idk. I just wish it were easier to get people to stay and easier to get people to leave.

This. Is. Life. I would love for this to be an actual feature, especially since it would give the police station something else to do.

It would also be cool that, if a villager asked to move, they ACTUALLY moved, and didn't say "Uh, you know, maybe we're not friends enough with each other, so I'll stay" after you agreed with them. This has just happened to me with Hazel, and, even if I don't absolutely HATE her (she's even kinda cute with that Kahlo-like unibrow), I would have appreciated her to move.

This would be a really good idea. You get letters from villagers who have moved out sometimes, if you were best friends or if you buried a time capsule for them, but it's just one letter and you can't write back.

You can avoid this or at least make it less likely by not talking to them at all after you tell them to move.

no - i think they mean a villager is like "um i'm moving in 5 days" and you say "okay" and they're like "but???? we're not close enough friends???? how come you didn't beg on your knees for me to stay?????????" looking at you o'hare and chops

i kinda wish we had more control over who moves, but then again, can you imagine that in real life? you want to move for whatever reason, maybe your significant other or your family's in the new town or you can find a better job there, but the mayor finds you so irresistibly cute that, no matter what you do, you can't leave to be where your heart desires. and your poor best friend, the only reason you had to be optimistic about being stuck in this town, is evicted by force because he's unfortunate enough to not be aesthetically pleasing to the mayor.

in that case, i guess my town is a bear cub prison, and all the other animals have to be evicted because they're trying to help the cubs break out of jail.

but yeah, maybe there could be actual enemies in animal crossing? nothing too malicious, though. all the animals will be nice, but if you treat someone poorly, they stop interacting with you slowly. they'll stop sending letters, pinging you, and other villagers won't ask you to deliver anything to them. then, eventually, they'll move out automatically.

it's, just an idea. it'll probably never happen but i think it'd be nice

I so wish there was a way of making villagers stay unless you tell them the opposite, or some sort of eviction process. It's always scary to lose your dreamies because you went on a 3-day trip and you couldn't play at all. It would be cool to have a feature that let you keep the villagers you wanted forever.
