Ever met someone from the internet?

Ive met several people that I originally corresponded with on the internet, and only one of those meetings was a grave mistake. Every other I've made some good friends out of and one meeting happened to make my life a whole lot brighter and happier, as I found the love of my life! So yeah, overall good experiences. You just have to be careful and know how to arrange a meeting safely.

Never meet someone from the internet by yourself, is my only advice. Bring someone you trust to help you get out of a bad situation. Oh, and mace (I'm 1/2 joking.)
I actually met someone once, but my parents and their parents went too. It was a lot more comfortable that way, and was only an awkwardfest for our parents lol. I never would meet someone alone.

While this is true to some extent, and more so for girls I suppose, I don't think it's entirely necessary. If you meet in a public place, make sure you know the person well enough online beforehand, seen plenty of pictures and possibly video or webcam too, the chances of things going so badly that you can't get out of the situation by yourself are very very slim.

I have met a few people, sometimes it's really awkward, sometimes it's ok.
All in all I wish to take back a few. I'm a quiet guy, don't talk much. I know few things. Working on engines, cars, animal crossing.

I did when I was a teenager. It was actually really dangerous the way I did it and I got lucky.
No matter how well you think you know people over the internet you don't necessarily REALLY know them. People can be whoever they want from behind a computer.

I actually just remembered that I have met someone from the internet. This random guy messaged me one day on facebook, saying he liked my Jedi cosplay. We got to talking and just recently we met in person for the first time at school. I don't really like him. He's weird and arrogant and I'm pretty sure he has a crush on me.

I've had several wonderful experiences with meeting people from online. I met my ex online, as well as several friends. Many times the initial interaction was anything but awkward, depending on how well you know eachother.

I've met many people from online! From here Fabio and Gallows. That was fun. And one of my best friends I originally met over 12 years ago online and we hang out quite often! But yeah, I've met many many online friends and none of them have ever been awkward. I'd love to meet many more!
