Ever had a villager *hide* from you?

Or could it be that some villagers just spend HOURS and HOURS out of reach?

I got stuck for like 7 hours trying to check in with Sydney, the purple koala, while time-traveling (to make sure she wasn't planning to move; I AM trying to dislodge Hamlet, the jock with the giant ego). She just wouldn't show up; there was the so-helpful "I'm not here" note on her door, and she couldn't be megaphoned (unless I'm butchering her name) and she wasn't in shops. I tore the town UP looking for her. After several hours of checking in regularly (and doing a lot of fishing, cleaning out my storage, etc.), I reasoned I was stuck there, so I switched to an alt character who's working on getting some furniture refinished... and as soon as I switched characters, Sydney showed up. (She WAS there when I switched back to Mayor... and natch, she immediately stuck me with a petition when there weren't any friend-towns online for me to visit).

This isn't the first time something similar has happened. I've gotten a couple of villagers to leave faster by time-traveling in small leaps -- and Sydney's consistently the toughest one to check in with. I'm starting to suspect that Little Miss Purple Innocent is up in a back room at Shampoodle, carrying on a torrid tea-and-scones party with that cologne-reeking Beardo who still haunts my Main Street. Has anyone else who's had Sydney noticed that she's gone A Lot?

Happened to me today with Fauna. Just save and restart.

Hm. That's essentially what I did by switching to an alt (I'd just been going on standby through the day, but played a LOT that day). Cool. My Mayor is starting to take it personally, wondering if she needs to switch deodorants, etc.

Yes! it happened today with rod, he just dissapeared and i haven't been able to find it until i reseted the game

What a coincidence! I had the same thing happen with Sydney in my town. It had been over a week since I talked to her, which I just talked to her an hour ago. o:

Yeah, sometimes, they are nowhere. I have that problem with Kabuki on a semi-regular basis; I'm using him and the wetsuit trick to unlock my Zen PWPs and it happened three times now that he was nowhere to be found. I then saw by coincidence that restarting helps since he was suddenly walking around in front of his house on the title screen when I had just quit out of frustration.

Yap, happen to muffy twice! Search every where including museum, just can't find her.

Wonder why there's such a thing in game, maybe a bug.

Happened to me all the time with villagers I hated or needed gone. It was like they did it on purpose so they wouldn't ping me

Wolfgang does it to me. I notice that he's always rather hard to find. Wonder if cranky types do it more..

Nope. When I said Fauna was "missing", I restarted, and she pinged to move.

Apollo I'm pretty sure has been spending a lot of time in my friend's main street lately, because I can never find him. XD
