Hello,
I'm sorry I wasn't sure where to post this...
I hope this is the right place.

I have an internet problem in AC, I can't visit certain towns and some people can't visit my town.
For others it works just fine, so I'm very confused. I can visit some towns just fine, and some people can visit me without problems. It seems to be random.

I've looked on the Nintendo site where they propose to troubleshoot the problem, I've tried a bunch of things like power cycling my router, entering my IP address in my 3DS manually...
Still the same issue.

My internet connection works fine in the 3DS test.

The error codes appears when I try to go to some town right when the waiting for the train message appears.
It searches for bit then freezes and gives me the error message.

Could anyone give me extra tips on how to fix this?
It's annoying for trades and adoptions as I'm never sure if I'm going to be able to visit or not,
or if the person is going to be able to come.

This used to happen to me a lot, what worked eventually was going in to the router settings and adding the 3ds' MAC Address to the 'allowed list' (not sure what it's actually called but it's something like that) Hope this helps!

Hi Lizzy thanks for your advice, what do you mean "allowed list"? You mean creating a DMZ?

Are you connecting with users from the same country as yourself?
I have heard there is a lot of problems with US routers compatibly with routers/modems of other nations.
I never encountered that problem myself... considering I rarely connect with other users and when I do they are mostly from the US like myself.
For a long time part of my internet would work and part wouldn't... I did the manual IP address thing and haven't had that problem. But I see you have already done that. ^^'

I live in western Europe, most of the people with whom I have connected are from the U.S, even those with who it has worked!
But you are right maybe it is a compatibility issue, my router is Orange, I don't think the U.S has that brand.

I have this problem all the time and it sucks. I don't know a specific reason. I can connect with some and others I can't. I did the dmz and doing the manually IP address. I even contacted nintendo and they did it all for me but sometimes I still get that error. What I am thinking is that the users I'm trying to connect with are out of the U.S.
