This is based on how you pronounce it! Do you pronounce it on-velope or en-velope?

I pronounce it envelope. It just sounds better to me.

On-velope sounds british to me
^ but then again im terrible with accents..
i've been told that i have their weird accent when i talk and can't pronounce things right. xD

it really depends. it's the same as words likr advANced/advARnced, plANt/plARnt, dANce/dARnce etc... it really just depends on how i pronounce the word at the time.

I honestly don't know anyone here in the UK who says it like on-velope. x3 I always say it ENvelope and everyone else I know says it like that too. But maybe some posh people in the UK say it?

Either way it seems like it would make more sense that we'd say it ENvelope. But the English language really doesn't make any sense at times so I could be wrong.
