eBay seller selling millions of IGBs?

Yeah I saw people selling rare items and millions of bells on eBay (and a few other sites) when I was hunting down acnl charms for my ds. I think it's ridiculous that people would pay real money for virtual currency.

Exactly. That's also a lesson to teach people who play freemium games. I wouldn't waste extra money on stuff.

It's actually pretty common. There is this MMO called Vindictus and a few years ago there was a bug in game that could be exploited to get a max upgraded weapon. The thing was that although the bug was known of, nobody really knew how to do it except for a select few. So the select few who knew how to do it decided to sell their services. One of the first people to do it charged $150 per weapon and had A LOT of people buying. In just a few days they made almost 5,000 dollars. Then more people found out how to do the bug and started selling for less, I think the lowest they went for was $50. These people still made thousands though.

Here is the real kicker though: Vindictus' admins were aware of the bug and were working on a fix. When they fixed it (which took maybe a week) the banned all of the hackers and all of the people that had bought from them. And the buyers were aware of the fact that they'd most likely be losing their money/accounts but they still took the risk.

There are also games where you can pay to win. Like Vindictus and TERA both have cash shops where you pay real money for virtual items. These are ran by the actual publishers of the game so there is no risk of getting banned. In TERA, for example, you can pay $60 to get a costume bundle of just 6 items (2 costumes, 2 headgears, 2 emoticons) And a single costume would probably cost you $10-$20 (I've admittedly bought a few of the $10 costumes myself since I never really go out and $10 isn't much money for me) Not only that, but they also sell a bunch of random chance items and people literally throw $100's of dollars into those RNG boxes, gambling away their real money for the chance at getting a rare item (even though of the time they just get junk.) I was in a guild and most people spent at least $100 on that crap. I think I was one of the only few that didn't buy those and my guildies would always make fun of me for it. Even though they were spending $500 a month on stuff that could be easily obtained in game with virtual currency lol

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THOSE ADMINS???

I mean seriously, people spend hundreds of dollars that they own on your games, and you ban them just because they cheated for a weapon???
