eBay seller selling millions of IGBs?

whaaaaat this is crazy! the related items are other items like bushes for money too. Idk about ruining the game but I personally wouldn't want to use my real life money to buy stuff for the game.

I came across it earlier when I was thinking about buying another AC:NL cartridge (which I decided against because 1 town is a lot of work to look after for me as it is). I think I'll avoid for now. I feel like if I had all of those bells I'd have little left to do in the game. I like the feeling of accomplishment when I pay off Public Works Projects etc. Also... I wonder how the seller managed to get all of those bells.

I've seen this on a few other sites as well.
Someone PM'ed me that they have Chrissy (whom I was looking for back then), and they were willing to give her to me for $2 irl. I checked out their site and they were also selling New Leaf items/villagers for real life money.

People also sell 5/6IV Shiny/Legendary/Pokemon for irl money :d

Definitely an interesting discovery. I'll leave it alone, for sure. Don't want to mess with it if it's illegal.

Well, it's not illegal but eBay would probably shut them down if they noticed it.

A lot of people who sell pokemon and such on eBay actually sell "guides" to get the pokemon in order to around this rule. I'm guessing the guide says 'trade with me in order to get the Mew you purchased" or something like that. : p

Selling in-game items and accounts for rl money is usually a big no-no, both for violating rules regarding selling that which doesn't legally belong to you as well as running the risk of being scammed. Though there are lots of seedy black market sites that do this for all kinds of games. Personally, I'd steer clear completely.

Theoretically speaking couldn't this user sell a "guide" to make 100M bells o.O?

I remember this sort of thing from an online SIM game I used to play about 13 years ago where people would offer in game services for RL money and i shook my head then and I do now haha. Surprised ebay hasn't cracked down on them yet.

Selling 100m seems like a really bad idea. Like just transferring that amount of bells would take a REALLY long time (I once bought Pokemon Y with 150m bells and it took me over four hours to transfer that much money!) And ?4 is what... just $6? So the payout just seems really bad.

During the summer someone was selling in game bells and the golden tool set.
A couple that just had a newborn was happy to buy them.
Said it would save them time that they didn't have.

Oh man. Quite clear that there's some uh...4 letter word, starts with a d, ends with and e...going around here. I've seen IRL money used in AC transactions, but u think it got shut down.

I'll bite what word are you thinking of cause it's obviously not scam ._.

I saw a lot of these when I was using a proxy to shop Japanese sites like Yahoo, there were many listings for full furniture sets like the Mermaid series for 100-150 Japanese Yen. For me it would ruin the game, and I see no purpose in fulfilling the game's achievements when they are diluted to such easily attainable goals as being purchasable for a couple of dollars. If I wanted that level of satisfation I would spend the ?4 on a snack. An expensive snack that probably doesn't taste that good in the end anyway.
