Earthquake in Haiti

It's the reactions of some of you people that cause me to worry about desensitizing the youth... is the loss of human life that amusing to you? This... has left me at a loss for words... the agony their country feels and all you do is sit their and laugh at their pain, their suffering... and death.

It's an uncanny and uncouth thing it is...

What do you expect from this forum, really? :/

Personally i was kinda surprised, even if they are jackasses i wouldn't think they'd laugh at something like this :/

It is just awful what happened in Haiti. Today in my Economics class we decided just to skip our lesson and talk about what was going on down in Haiti. They're the poorest country in the ENTIRE Western Hemisphere...and this Earthquake was a 7.0 on the Richtor scale. (10 is the worst but the largest earthquake ever in recorded history has only gotten up to a 9.5.) I have been through a 6.1 earthquake and I barely survived that, and these Haitians have been having tons and tons of aftershocks averaged at about 5.0.

Not only that, but they were still trying to recover from all the Tropical Storms/Hurricanes that devastated the country back in '08. They were trying to build buildings, fix roads, and give homes to families. All that work...gone in this Earthquake. It's really sad. But, my school is trying to raise money to give to a charity to help out Haiti so hopefully we can help out as much as we can.

Just saw it on the news. It hit most of the island. Those people lost EVERYTHING. that's just terrible. They're in my prayers for sure.

They had so little to begin with, and they lost what little they had had.

Well aside from praying there is something you can do... most likely there will be groups of people going to help rebuild you could always volunteer for a week or something, or send money to people who are and groups to buy supplies...

It's a terrible tragedy. I live by a military base and they just sent out a MEU to Haiti to help, a few of my friend's were actually on it.
