When I first started ACNL, I didn't know that there were online communities/forums for it, so I earned money by selling fruits, shells, beetles, etc.. then I discovered that Tumblr had an animal crossing side, and then I started making more money by joining the stalk market, selling villagers/items, and so on.
Now, I have millions in my ABD lol I mostly just spend now, though I do still earn money by selling stuff ^^

I don't like withdrawing money from my bank acc ever, though for a long time I used to siphon most of my earnings into four mortgages and various PWPs, depositing barely any...
Still got plenty to spend on, but I've recently decided to postpone it all to get that gold savings badge first. X)

I haven't earned money from beetle farming in a looooong time. I've just been selling my TBT for in game bells. It's faster in my opinion. Especially if you are active here.
Though, since I'm resetting my town, I've been selling all of my orderables to Reese to make room and I've made easily $300k.

I just started my game last month, so I've mainly been in the earning stage, but I think I've finally put enough aside thanks to the turnips ^_^ I hope to finish the home expansions soon, and then use the rest for PWPs.

i brought 2 blue roses and 2 purple pansies off tbt and sell them. As people pay a lot for them in large bundles i make money very quickly 
I'm more into saving right now as I'm redecorating my town/changing paths, so I don't really have time to make some bells.
I've started to buy turnips though and sell them in other towns where they have a high selling price. I haven't gone to the island to beetle farm in weeks though. I probably spend about 5k a day, it really depends on what's in stores though!
