E-Relationships.....

I see my sister on this game called Club Penguin and she talks to these people that she doesn't know at all and starts saying that they are her boyfriend. This person could be a 48 year old man trying to.. You know where this is going.
A lot of people try to turn the game into some sort of Dating Game. Which is why in some games, a lot of the staff members prosecute the players accordingly.

What is sad is that Club Penguin is infested with little children. The Pot of Gold for a pedophile.

There was a girl I knew who met a forty year old man online and they started a relationship and he eventually kidnapped her. It made the national news. The police finally tracked her down but she didn't want to leave him.

It was a sad story that really messed her up.
STRANGER DANGER!!!

Any girl like that is just....
crazy.
didn't listen to mommy when she said "Dont give your address out on the computer"
and shame on that man..gross
She was a really smart girl. I don't know what went through her head.
Well i remember i think it was 2 years ago? This radio station me and my friends were listening to while my daddy was driving us to school, said they were gonna show how unsafe chat rooms were so they got permission from the police and everything so they went into this teen-only chat room and some 30 yr old guy was in there talking to the girls then he started talking to the radio people and he was asking questions and was all pervy then he gave his number and told the radio ppl to call him he thought they were this 13 yr old girl named Angel. So they private call him and one of the radio hostess talks to him and this is all on the radio live. And it was so disturbing what he was saying to her. While they were talking the pilce were like tracking him down, but then one of the radiohost just lost it cuz this 30 yr old perv was talking so disgusting and he yelled, you mother- we're tracking you down you sick perv!" and the 30 yr. old guy's like , uh wrong number and hangs up."
Very very gross sick pervs are out there. :S

True, however most online games do that. (Surprisingly, it hit Club Penguin.)

I remember when I used to play Runescape a long time ago, everyone had to have a "BF" or "GF" on there because it was cool.

Unfortunately, that's one of the drawbacks when coming out. Some people fear the idea of something they aren't really used to, which is dumb in my opinion because you never did anything to them that may cause harm or such. It really irks me how some people make their decisions based on Religion and Society. They say that you have a lot of Freedoms when in reality, everything you do and say are inspired by Religion and Society.

For example, Homosexual People are going through battles and battles trying to earn their rights, sometimes they may lose, sometimes they win. However, they know that in due time, they'll win the war. People need to start being introduced to new ideas in the real world. A majority of individuals lock themselves from learning and interacting with people that are very much different.

To be honest, all this hatred is unnecessary and very much irks me to no end.

There are rare people who will be your friends only because they see the true person in you. Not because you are something you chose to be.

RuneScape was pretty awesome back then, except for the groping each other tidbit. Now, it's an offense if you do something like that =P

Thank the heavens.

Very true. The females dominated because the guys would do anything for them. Which is sad if you think about it. Nevertheless, since the females were dominant, they had a lot of things to choose from.

I still remember marriage ceremonies and such.

Lol, we definitely digressed from the topic.

I'd have to compare myself to you. My online personality seems to be a bit more mature than the real me. Not sure whether that is good or bad. Depends on the situation I guess.

Lol I hate people who date someone just for they're money and stuff, irl and online, and online marriages XD I remember me and my gf did that on Gaia online a long time ago, I think most of online dating is caused by lonliness and rl rejection, but I do also believe that true love is possible over the internet, but the internet is however dangerous and full of pedos and viruses that keep downloading gay porn on my cpu >_>, point is, The person your online dating with could be your perfect match or your worse nightmare.

i will say that distance puts a lot of strain on relationships, and i would personally rather live in close proximity of my significant other. you have no idea what is going on on their end, and without the physical intimacy (incl. hugs, cuddles), it's just not worth it for me.

i think you also need to be around them to know if the two of you would really get along. there are dynamics that just aren't explored, and in my case we had no idea that we didn't get along until we lived in the same city. it was always just frustration about how we "couldn't wait to see each other," etc. etc.

above all, if the setup makes you happy, it's ok, but i feel that you have the potential to be a lot happier when you're with someone you live near or can see more easily. :)

Indeed.

When you step into Cyber Space keeps your guards up. Also, make sure you have a kick-butt anti-virus and firewall or else those types of things would happen. I remember one time when some virus would open this dumb file screaming, "I'M WATCHING GAY PORN" unrelentingly. It was embarrassing >.> Fortunately, no one was really paying attention to what I was doing on the computer or listening to anything, so I was pretty safe. I got majorly pissed that day though which drove me into learning more about security and Cyber Space.

Yes, you are very right. If you approach the situation Psychologically you'll understand why people do it. Every human has needs and desires. If and when pushed to the proper limits, then people towards almost any length to accomplish and satisfy those needs and desires. Some people do it because they fear the fact of being rejected and such.

And your point on the whole, "gold-digger" thing. I'd have to agree. I really don't like it when people are only in relationships to gain something from the other.

I for one don't have time to really invest in Online Relationships. No point and will only lead to more stressful times than it would have been in the Real World.
