(Dumb question) Can it rain during the bug off?

Dumb question for the time travellers here. I'm super excited for the Bug Off tomorrow, but it's been super rainy on my island all week and I'm afraid the pattern will continue tomorrow (Which would really put a hamper on what bugs can spawn).

Can someone confirm or deny if there will be a set weather pattern during Bug Offs like there is during Cherry Blossom season? Knowing that will put my mind at ease a bit.
