So, I've created my town and met the villagers in it. I've chosen the ones I want to keep and the ones I want out (I just ignore them after introducing myself, I've seen a video that says they move out in a week, if you have any other methods (excluding TT), please share!).

There's only one villager I desperately want (which is Aurora the Penguin), so should I choose another nine to go for or just go with the flow and see who I end up with?

Please post any advice concerning dreamies here (and how you chose/choose your dreamies!). Thanks :)

I personally dont TT.
I talk to my dreamies and become really good friends, and ignore the rest. Then the rest move out/ping to move out.

It's fun to see who you end up with.

A way to get people to move out is to talk to a villager who you like until they give rumour dialogue (ones about you do not count). Normal villagers will say things about spreading rumours are bad and you should look into them, peppies will ask if you have any gossip, lazies will say about how there's a rumour about how they have a collection of an item etc. It's best to get this dialogue from 2 different vilagers before TTing to the next day. Sometimes, instead of that dialogue, they will say how someone's moving out. When they say this, get that villagers ping and they will ask to move out.

I chose my dreamies based off of my town's theme which is simple yet cute and then I had a poll on what species to do because a all species town would be cool imo, so cats won and I wanted 1:1 ratio for gender and 1 of each personalty.

I won't be making a "themed" town as such. Just seeing which villagers I end up with and seeing what I can do with my town. :)

I've heard that the level of friendship between the player and a villager determines the probability that the villager will move (up to a certain point, that is).

So my recommendation: befriend them. Send them mail, deliver stuff for them, and in a couple days they may ping you.
I've personally done this many times and it works like a charm.

Also, I would try to get the other 9 dreamies first, and make sure you have the campsite PWP built. Depending on your current villagers' personalities, she may show up there :)
