Hi, I'm Karma, and I have no idea how trading villagers works or what voids are, and I also have no idea why my town is so terrible. I do commissions but prices vary; If you want an example of my work look at my profile picture, cause whatever God out there watching you sleep knows that I'm the least professional human to ever exist. Oh, and I've yet to create a signature. Save me.
Also, if you're willing to teach me how the flip heck everything works, I'll give you a free sketch of your Mayor.
*incoherent screeching* :cool:

Hi Karma and welcome to The Bell Tree.

People trade villagers by alerting people when a particular is deciding to move out, and let's people their move out date. When they're ready to move out and have their stuff in boxes, the person buying the villager comes to visit and asks the villager to move into their town.

Even I was confused at first!
But it's easy.
So trading villagers is simple. Let's use Wolfgang as an example.
Wolfgang decides that he's going to move.
Soon, Wolfgang gets into the stage where he is in boxes.
Being in boxes means that when you visit their house, they are packed up.
All their furniture is in boxes.
So, when a villager is in boxes, somebody from another town could come over.
When somebody comes over, they could go to Wolfgang's place.
When they talk to Wolfgang, he would bring up that he's moving.
Wolfgang would say;
"I'm leaving <town name.> I really wonder what other cool towns like <town name> I can go to."
The person who is visiting has the chance to say;
"My town is cool!"
And from then, Wolfgang would move in to their town!

Well, voids are when your villager moves out.
If a villager moves out without being adopted, he/she would be voided.
The void is the piece of data in your game that collects the villagers that moved out without somebody getting them.
When you go to somebody's town, and they have 9 villagers, there is a possibility that a random villager from your void (aka a villager who just left without going to another town) could go and move into their town.
The only way to get rid of those voided villagers that move into other people's town is to go to a town which has 10 villagers, therefore, none of your voided villagers could move into their town.
That clears those villagers from ever moving into anybody else's town.
From then on, none of your moved villagers could move into others' town, until another villager moves out.

Sorry for the tricky explanations.

It's fine! Thank you for going into such detail, it wasn't tricky at all. Would either of you like that sketch? No worries if not, as I'm aware I am probably the worst artist on this forum trying to get some sweet, sweet bells.

No, it's fine! Just relax and take your time as you search through and enjoy the forums.
:)

If you want, I can donate you some TBT! Just tell me if you want me to or not!

I would appreciate that, but you really don't have to. I'm just happy to know what these things are and hopefully put them to good use! :D

Ah, no, it's completely fine with me! I have every set on acnl, FYI. If you want some specific items or sets, then just ask me!

Nah, it's fine. You've done enough, and the only sets I really want are the Sanrio sets, and seeing as I've no idea how common they are, I'll just wait until I spot them for sale around these parts. ^^ Thank you anyway!

I don't think they're overly common, considering how rare (and now expensive) the cards seem to be nowadays. That and they are kind of fiddly to get, considering how many RV visits and meowcoupons they take. Though coincidentally, my girlfriend and I have a set of the cards... and she has a thread where people can just purchase the sets, in addition we also have a shared thread where people can visit RVs.
