just curious if your parents play video games? and what games do they play? My mom used to play video games (only donkey kong on gba though lmao) but now she doesn't anymore hahah

My dad loves Left 4 Dead mostly but plays Counter Strike:GO occasionally if I play but usually gets overwhelmed by how great everyone is online on it! We used to play Halo:Combat Evolved on almost a daily basis but our computers can't really run an old game like that anymore without something screwing up unfortunately. I've been trying to get him to play Mirror's Edge for the longest time but he won't get back into it :( Both of my parents are always up for party games on the Wii like Mario Kart, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, etc.

My mother's not interested, but my Dad's a huge gamer (plays waaaaay more than I do) and he was the one who got me into video games in the 90s. :)

We used to play a lot of similar games (RPGs, fighting games, etc) but I think the only franchise we have in common now is Assassin's Creed. Right now I'm sat in his living room and he's justing turning on his Xbox One to play Diablo III. He's mainly a PC gamer though and although he plays a variety of games his most consistent interest is MMORPGs. The one he never fails to go back to no longer how long a break he takes from it is World of Warcraft.

My dad likes playing Skyrim, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, and the LoZ games. And my mom likes older games like Super Mario Bros. 3, and Sonic 1, 2, and 3.

Sometimes they give me a hard time about playing too much, but on the weekends if my dad has nothing to do then he will be play all day so it tends to be frustrating when that happens =_=

I got my mom into Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon but she doesn't play anymore, sadly :( but I recently got her into The Sims. She still plays that :)

As for my dad, he loves playing video games! He doesn't play them as much as he use to though. The last game he played and beat was Tomb Raider Remastered for PS4. He says he prefers to watch me or my brother play :P So I had to play ALL our PS4 games because no one else will (My brother's always playing GTA5). Curse you The Evil Within >_< *shakes fist* I bet when Uncharted releases, I'm gonna have to play that as well *sighs* Video games are so tiring lol xD

Well my parents like to play Mario Kart with me as it's now considered family time.

Also, every Friday, me and my mum go up to my room to play PC game together. Currently, we're working through The Walking Dead together at the moment. ^_^

Even though they don't play a lot of the same games I do, they take interest in watching me play.

My mum also used to play Wild World with me when I was younger. If she's got nothing to do now, she goes on City Folk instead.

My Mom and dad (mostly my mom haha) play this old vintage pac-man game with the controller from time to time

last time my dad played a video game was in 2007 when we got the wii.....and that was only because he wanted to test it out before he let us play but im sure we all know he secretly wanted to play video games without looking "immature"...sigh...asian dads///

My dad does on occasion, but not too often. The only game my mom liked was that one minigame on wii where you raced the horses and hit scarecrows.

My parents don't but luckily they've never discouraged me from playing either :)

my dad's the person who got me into video games - played Half life and Doom with me since I was about 5

My dad plays Mario Kart Wii with us sometimes.

But other than that, they don't play video games and in fact, says they're childish and thinks that we shouldn't be playing them anymore.

- My Mum plays facebook games. Dunno what sort as I instantly lose interest when I see them being played. From glances they seem to be 'generic puzzle game'.
She used to play Pokemon back when it was big and first came out. I guess she got into the hype with the rest of us, though she seemed more into 'catching them all' over everything else. She kind of gave up with that when the amount of Pokemon started getting silly and they pretty much dropped that slogan.

It's hard to tell what she overall thinks of gaming since as with most things, her opinions on them change on a regular basis.
A lot of her hate seems to come simply from my younger brother and sister constantly arguing over the PS3 as well as constantly shouting and screaming whilst they're playing.
She doesn't like the amount of money I spend on gaming, though she's happy I don't scream at the TV like a moron.

My step dad used to play video games a lot. In fact, it's his SNES that I played when I was younger (alongside my Sega Megadrive/Genesis). We used to play Super Mario World, Mario Kart and Smash TV a lot when I was younger and he was really into it.
He sort of lost interest around the time of the PS1 though and I don't think he's touched a game since.

My Dad I don't think is that into it at all. He had a PS2 and the only games I really remember him ever playing are Quake and Timesplitters. He was always complaining that I played them so much and always came up with dumbass rules like "I have to read for an hour before I played a game for an hour" and was totally into that "you should only play for an hour" rule and really followed through with it. I mean, exactly an hour...The amount of times he just turned off a game before I had a chance to save (which was a bigger deal in those days of 'rare save points')...

Only my dad really plays games. He used to be a pretty hardcore gamer when I was younger, he owns all the old retro consoles. :) I practically grew up with videogames, since I was only a toddler when I watched him play on the Gamecube. When I was 4, I played Animal Crossing for the first time, thanks to him. As for my mum, she doesn't really play games, but obviously she knows a lot about them because my brother and I are always talking about them. But yeah. My dad doesn't really play games much anymore, I think he's just finished playing Super Luigi U and now he wants to borrow my copy of Captain Toad. Sheesh. I even follow him on Miiverse! I sure hope though that if I ever become a parent that I'll still have time to play games and get my kids into them, too!

Sort of, my dad was into Tomb Raider and racing games when I was a kid, he guided me through playing the first Tomb Raider on the PS1 when I first started playing video games. But now my brother and I are really into gaming he just plays stuff like Candy Crush, he has a DSi XL that he sometimes plays Professor Layton on- Though he is thinking about selling it.
My mum didn't really play video games when I was little but she encouraged me playing stuff like Animal Crossing and Pokemon to improve my reading skills. She also has a DSi XL but she plays stuff like Art Academy. So I guess my parents could be described as casual gamers.

My Dad probably more than my Mum. He would talk about playing the first Civilization game when he had the time and also got me and my sister addicted to Chicken Invaders when we were younger. I would watch him play Lara Croft games all the time too, so I guess he kind of introduced me to games in a way.

Although I remember buying a Wii Fit for fun and watching in amusement at my Mum using it to try and lose weight. I even offered to take her running but nope, stepping on and off a plastic board was how she wanted to go about it.
