Does your island have any gravestones? Why?

No, but if I did, it would probably be because of my island story. I also don't have much space to put a gravestone anywhere

I have one lone western gravestone placed on the flat rock behind the island. Most people miss it
unless they're looking for it. It is a part of the story of my island many years before it was settled by
Nook Inc.

I don't have any because idk how to get them. i wouldnt mind setting up a memorial for my cat Daisy in game.

Yeah.

I have a forest in front of my house that I call 'murder forest'. What pirate doesn't commit murder and threaten to murder others? That's me. I already buried one villager, no one is safe.

i have a graveyard with zen style stones! Placed a variety of candles and the golden casket there. When I got my two starter villager pics I also placed them there and then I sent them off the the void :) (rip Hazel and Lyman)

Cool island lore! I really want to make some backstory about my island but I just don’t really have any creativity at the moment to do so haha ;;
To answer your question though, yes, I do have a little graveyard on my island! Currently there are three gravestones. They don’t really have anything symbolical about them nor do they really have much of a reason to be there — just that I don’t really know how to fill up the empty space so decided to make one. I like to think of it as maybe the resting place of past villagers, framed photos and all.

I considered it, but I havent put any on my island yet. I might try to fit in one of the gravestone items onto my island as I keep designing it. If I did use them, they would represent the family members I've lost.

I want to use gravestones, but I have no idea how/where to fit them into my island "theme" :confused: Evershine is too much of a personal comfort island to have a full graveyard without it looking out of place, and my house in the forest is supposed to be more abandoned than haunted (despite the fake art and the character living there being associated with ghosts)

But I love and want them.

I put one in my garden but like some people here it's purely for aesthetic reasons, besides I feel like putting a memorial for a real life person in the game would be a huge mood killer every time I pass by it :/ especially since I play this game to cheer me up

My island doesn't have any gravestones, not sure if I will create a graveyard or not. Placing randomly gravestones would look dull.

My island doesn't have any gravestones, but there a lot out there that look really cool! I have Lucky who has a gravestone though.

Yeah! I've got a graveyard purely because I didn't know what to do with the pictures of the villagers that moved away lol..

I don't have one yet but I do plan have plans to put one probably around one of the beach rocks. My dad died last year so yeah. My island is far from horror but I still wanted have some sort of memorial for him in game. Still currently in quarantine so can't really visit cemeteries.

Ahh I kind of feel this way too. I mean, graveyards in the game don't have to be associated with "horror" but I do feel a little superstitious and rather not associate them with anyone I know who have passed IRL for my personal "comfort island" as you say, haha! If I wanted to memorialise someone from my IRL life I would probably do without the gravestone and just make the area special to them. I do love the zen-style stone though and I have a small gravesite in the natural/forested area of my island. However there's no real reason behind it other than for aesthetic purposes. My graves are also scattered around a hill top that could look like some ruins of an old abandoned area so the gravestones just blend in. I haven't used the western style stone anywhere and I don't plan to.
