I've used about 30 fish baits in the rivers and have found 0 snapping turtles. Are they supposed to be this rare??

It did take me quite a while to catch one so I believe they are pretty rare... if you don’t know already they’re an extra large shadow. I’ve had a good amount of luck fishing them from the nook mystery island that has the really pretty waterfalls that lead to the pond right in the front

I've caught quite a few on Nook islands, they seem to be common in the rivers there

It's a big shadow, black bass sized

Very common in Nook Islands. In rivers. I've caught a few there.

I guess next time I go to an island I'll have to check the rivers there! Thanks guys.

I caught 3 in span of 15 mins last night so I wouldn't call them rare unless I'm just really lucky

This is Shelldon. We took an Easter photoshoot together.

I just caught one in the river of my own island. Focus on the shadow size of the bass. It took me be 25 minutes of walking up and down my rivers to catch a single one.

i have a few of them from my island! i don't use bait so they just show up occasionally. might help if you scare away any of the smaller fish!
