ive been playing this game since 2015 but i never really figured out how friendship works?? lmao
i wanna get a few of my villagers' pictures before they move out, but not if that's gonna make it take longer. i'm pretty sure moving out is random, i dunno if anyone else has heard otherwise??

Nope. I have three villager pictures from Samson, one I bought and 2 he gave me himself, so I'm pretty sure we have a high friendship lmao. He's still asked me to move out. I think I've heard people say that villagers are more likely to move out if you have a high friendship with them, and the ones you have a low friendship with won't move out.

I had a villager, Nibbles (ugh gag good riddance), and I never talked to her at all!! I would hit her with nets and push her into pitfalls and etc, and she pinged to move twice. When I told her goodbye she was like "ahaha nope, I think I'll stay and become better friends with u" and then the second time she pinged, she said the same thing but this time I didn't save my game so she pinged again and I got her to move out :)

^^ this. Yeah having a high friendship with a villager makes them want to leave even more.. I have a high friendship level with Kyle (he’s given me his photo I think twice now) and he’s ALWAYS wanting to move away. ;~; And with Hippeux I hardly ever talked to him (other than the initial introduction b/c if you don’t introduce yourself they don’t move, from my experience I could be wrong) and when he longed to move I was like “finally! Byeeee” And then he changed his mind. Saying the same thing “I want to be better friends with you” >.> like UGH. I don’t want to be friends with you though. So I did one request from him and then the second time he lunged he finally decided to go..
