Does everybody love Raymond?

he’s decent. he has a cool design but other than that, i’m not fond of him. i wouldn’t be mad if he like,, randomly moved in or something but he’s not a villager i would seek out otherwise as there are definitely other smugs and cats that i like more ;u;

I've seen so many posts like this about people who got a villager because they were popular online only to find they don't really like them. Its ok not to like Raymond, and you don't have to keep him because he is popular. I think its way more fun to have villagers you love and genuinely like to talk to instead of having villagers you are meh about and have no motivation to interact with them.

I like Raymond quite a bit, but I had low expectations going in and didn't have another smug I had bonded with, so that could have helped.

I have found when I get a duplicate personality, it's hard for the second to live up to the first, so if the person already has a smug they really like, I'm not sure they are going to like Raymond more. If you don't already have a favorite smug though, he's great.

I haven't even managed to get him yet, but I still love him nonetheless. He reminds me of one of my favourite musicians David Bowie because of the heterochromia, and his original clothing with the waistcoat just looks really cool and unique compared to most other basic villagers. To be completely honest though, the main reason I really like Raymond is because of my head canon ship of him and Marshall. I love creating villager couples on my island, and that ship is definitely my favourite one by far. I can just imagine them both sitting down in a little cafe and chilling together while drinking a coffee and reading the morning newspaper.

Ok whew that got out of hand, TLDR; I just really like Raymond I guess haha.

I ALSO lurve David Bowie! Even named my dog Bowie (she's a girl though) but never made the connection with Raymond, though I can kinda see it. Point of fact and actually commonly mistaken, David Bowie didn't actually have heterochromia, his eye was damaged in a bar fight which caused one pupil to remain permanently dilated and to appear a different color from the other.

I actually compare Raymond to a very close family friend who was born with one pupil shaped like a keyhole (which also looks like heterochromia). He's also a business casual, snooty kinda guy but tons of fun to party with.
