Does anyone else miss villager errands?

You're so right, it was so fun doing little helpful tasks for our villagers! Too bad its gone :( nintendo pls!

I miss how in previous games we could deliver items for our villagers. I feel like the New Horizons villager-player interactions aren't what they used to be. Does anyone else feel like this? 💔
I used to get so sick of them asking me to do stuff. Definitely should have taken advantage of it.

They still give you the errands; it just doesn’t seem very frequent or at least from my experience so far. The times I got the errands, I was visiting a villager in their house and talked to them about three to four times before they told me another villager left something at their house.

I miss the the errands but sometimes I don't lol. I just think of how badly I destroyed my villagers' homes with the furniture I delivered or the bugs and fish I caught for them. But I do miss them. It was fun variety compared to now.

Definitely. Seems like the past games had a lot of focus on life with your neighbors, but NH has more focus on design :/

I wish they were like how they were on the GameCube version. You could ask them if they needed anything and then they'd give you an errand to do. It still happens, but not like how it used to be.

Yes and no, only because in NL it got... tedious. Everyone would be pinging Allll the time to catch a specific bug or fish or deliver a present. I’d have tasks pile up and visits with villagers to make and by the end of the day I’d realize i ended up missing a few. It was sorta stressful! But I do like the concept and it would be fun to have them back, just less frequently and only at higher friendship levels like we do now with the treasure hunts etc

I'm not bothered to be honest. New Leaf had my villagers ask me to do favours way too often. I like the frequency in New Horizons where I really liked doing their errands. It doesn't happen every day but when it does, I'm more than happy to do it.

Yeah it still happens, it's just either more rare or you have to work your friendship up to that point. Funny how in GC you had the option to do errands, while in NH you have the option to give them something. Since there's a thought bubble now too, you don't get pings as often so sometimes that makes it feel less active. I agree that the villagers feel less emphasized in this game

Just today Marshal asked me to deliver something Zucker left at his house. I'm like "sure!" so I run over and give it to Zucker and he asks me to guess if it's furniture or clothes... I guess clothes. Wrong. He says "sorry! maybe next time..." and tells me to tell Marshal. So I tell Marshal and he just says thanks?
Okay?

What did he leave behind? What did I miss out on? How was I supposed to know what is in the box? Conversations seem to end abruptly and not have much of a point. If I guessed right I suppose I would get the item, but it just felt weird.

Talked to Fauna today and she said something like "wonder what I'll do today..." and that was it? That's not a conversation. And I talk to her again and it's "wow, we're seeing each other a lot today!"

Yes, the villager dialogue needs some work.

As others have said, villagers do still ask you to do errands, but it's much less often than in previous games. I do miss it being more of a regular thing, made the villagers feel more like they had their own little lives not revolving around me.

i do! i’ve been asked to deliver stuff a few times but it’s definitely a lot less frequent than it used to be ;u;

Very badly! Like others have said, you have to really harass them to get them to ask, if they'll ask, and not many will in a given day. I think NL had one guaranteed activity/favor per animal per day (lost item, hide-and-seek, delivery, catch something, etc.). I find the actual interaction life of the town much more shallow without these things. They don't have needs (like being STARVING, or wanting a little fish friend) or want to play games anymore. Too busy naruto running, I guess.

I think letting players refuse without dinging friendship would let players who didn't like it or don't want to affect houses/wardrobes off the hook.

i miss the errands too! i occasionally get the missing item or the delivery to another villager but most of the time it seems to just be them wanting to be a bug/fish off me when it’s like.... the ocd in me is not gonna let that slide cause i don’t wanna mess up their house. if there was option to like catch something for them and them not put it in their house i’d be all over that lol. idek if that counts as an errand but ig it is. i miss hide and seek the most! :-(

I don't think it's entirely gone? I could've sworn one of my villagers asked me to catch them something in this game?

They aren't! They still ask,you just have to have a good friendship level with them.
You deliver gifts/forgotten items, fish and catch them bugs, etc.

They also play treasure hunting games and such.

Yes, the villager dialogue needs some work.

This is exactly it. The conversations are short and so meaningless. Before, at least in other games, there would be stories or longer dialogues with more substance to them.
